"But Williams failed a field sobriety test, smelled of alcohol and appeared to have glassy eyes."

"Williams was driving a black Cadillac 57 mph in a 45 mph zone and weaving between lanes"

So he was speeding, swerving, smelled of booze, and failed a field sobriety test. Failing the test alone gives the officer probable cause to arrest him for DUI. He may not have been drunk according to the law but who knows what else was in his system.

This times 1000x. I have never failed a field sobriety whilst pulled over 2 times while leaving establishments in which I only had several beverages. I speed sometimes so it does not alarm me that I was pulled over. Williams is really perputuating his 'character concern' stereotype.

^No he's not. He's perpetuating his "bad driver" stereotype.

Unless he tests positive for a drug. Or pot. The latter being a complete a joke.

I don't know how the urine test works, but if they somehow prove he was high, his first offense would not allow the NFL to suspend him, a la Braylon's DUI? Or is smoking pot frowned upon more in terms of a suspension than DUIs?

he failed the field sobriety test and brought him in to test his BAC. The breathalizer right then and their was null and void since he failed the test.

The article says he was speeding and swerving. He should have gotten off with a warning? If anyone's speeding and swerving on the road, they should be booked for the safety of everyone else. I don't see how his genetic makeup is a factor.

"swerving" to cops is completely different than what most people consider swerving. he probably hit the little bumpy things once by accident and got pulled over.

They don't test urine for alcohol. That doesn't work. They test for everything else.

They usually only do urine if they think you're on something. Alcohol is a blood test.

This has been said a million times before but I'll say it again.. dude is a millionaire and pro-athlete. Wherever he went there was at least a dozen people that would have driven him home, taxis that would have come running, and any number of people that would have picked him up. It's beyond ridiculous for this to happen; sheer stupidity.

BOOM, roasted.

No, but really all true.
If there is even a question, call up a limo, some high class sloots, a few middle class who-uhs, and buckets of Cristal and get ya ass driven home in style.

It will be interesting to see the fallout here. If Goodell investigates (which he seemingly LOVES to do) he'll find alot of innuendo that says Williams was drunk when he crashed his car leaving the Turning Stone Casino and Resort last year just before leaving the Syracuse football team.

Goodel can't suspend Mike Williams for something he did when he was in college.

Kind of not true. Players can enter the NFL as offenders of the conduct policy I believe. Most first time offenders don't receive a suspension anyway. They come in with one strike against them already so no matter what they do, next time is a suspension. I'm not sure if Williams falls into that. However I think this whole thing is a whole lot of nothing.

I didn't mention suspension. But it can ABSOLUTELY effect Goodell's opinion of his character.

And any good lawyer will likely get this thrown out and the DUI won't stick.

.06? .02? .15?

Since when did a law have to be broken for a player to fall victim of Player Conduct Policy?

Most of the time it does. Other times you get a warning, suspensions/fines usually result from breaking the law.

The only evidence (so far) is that he was swerving/speeding (illegal) while driving after .06 worth of alcohol (completely legal).

The NFL would not punish someone for getting a ticket for speeding/swerving so until/if the urine test comes back positive, he's probably in no danger of even being fined other than the ticket.

If it does come back positive, it will be up to the team to suspend him (Braylon).

However I think this whole thing is a whole lot of nothing.
I don't think this is true, but I don't know 100%. Plus who falls into this category? Dez Bryant? Percy Harvin? Will Cam Newton? I don't think there is a such thing honestly because what players have we ever seen get suspended the first time they got into trouble since being drafted over something minor?
