Sleeper Running Backs
Who does everyone think is going to be the sleeper running back of this draft?
I think that Evan Royster or Jordan Todman are going to be big time steals in the middle rounds.

Chris Polk, Washington. The guy is sneaky fast and sneaky strong, only a RS soph so i doubt he'd come out but he'd be worth a mid-round pick to me.

Shane Vereen hasn't gotten much hype here but could be a 2nd Round pick if he declares.

Is Mikell LeShoure too prominent on the radar to be considered a "sleeper"?

LeShoure would be right about the cutoff between the big names and the sleepers I guess.
What are your thoughts on Roy Helu Jr. from Nebraska, he looked real good in that game a couple weeks ago when he ran for 300.

I'll take your 300 and raise you 330. :D
I hope Leshoure comes back for his senior year, but I understand if he declares. He's a good 3 down back prospect with the size and speed to make an impact in the NFL.

Helu is the most intriguing RB available to me in 2011, IMO. 6 feet, 220# and can fly.
I think he has a minor injury history, but if he freaks his 40, 4.43 or better, I could see him being one of the top 4 RBs taken.
Mostly a north/south runner, but damn when he finds daylight, Helu can dust a secondary.

I have to vote Jordan Todman. One of my friends at school is his first cousin. He went to my High School's biggest rival....needless to say, considering we're a little 800 kid Catholic school, he tore us a new one as well as every other school in the area.
Shane Vereen is also somebody I love. He's got more power and pop through the hole than people give him credit for, he creates plays for himself (not something a lot of these guys do), and has a lot of versatility.

Derrick Locke is such a good player. He's one I'd like to see in NE after the draft.

I loved Derrick Locke when he was a freshman. I figured he'd get better the longer he was in college and would be a beast by the time he came out. I haven't really seen him play much recently but he honestly didnt look much different than when he was a FR when I did. Thoughts?

Ok here are a few that come to mind for me in the up coming draft. Outside of the guys already mentioned.
Bilal Powell Louisville- has absolute elite ability at RB, has great acceleration, toughness, runs hard and would be a dynamite 2nd or 3rd round pick.
Allen Bradford USC- Like his size, big kid, runs hard, injuries are a concern but picking him up in the 3rd or 4th round is a major steal.
Damien Berry Miami FL- Big time steal, will be a later round pick but is a tough kid, runs hard and has a thick build.
Marc Tyler USC- Does not get much hype but has been through a lot, finally putting it together on the field and would be a great second day selection late in the draft.
Delone Carter Syracuse- Fine player, tough kid, runs hard and is consistent on the field. Great late round draft pick.
Mossis Madu Oklahoma- Really late round pick, but has versatility, can catch the football, make big plays, would be a fine 7th round pick possibly.
Derrick Washington Missouri- Same thing, kicked off the team but can still play if he shows no character issues, on the field he is big, fast, can catch the ball and would be a great late round pickup, only issue is character.
Matt Asiata Utah- Power back, not a great player but has a chance as a situational rusher, decent ability.
Mike Ford USF- Another player, off the team I believe but has shown flashes, just has to work out well and show what he can do.
Shaun Draughn UNC- Had a really down year, but has skills and could surprise some people can find his way on a roster.
Quentin Castille Nebraska- Not sure he plays football anymore, but that kid can play when he was at Nebraska as a sophomore, great power and toughness and if he is still around playing he would be a steal late possibly.

Jamaal was hurt in college a few times too but i agree.
i believe Scott goes to the NFL combine and like must Maryland players will shut it down, sub 4.3 40 yes ,he will run a Chris Johnson like 4.26-4.29 range.
HE should be a round 3 to round 6 guy, Kick returner/3rd down back.

DuJuan Harris from TROY has been splitting time the past two seasons, but was a 1,000 yd rusher in '08. Very good receiver out of the backfield and a strong runner when he goes north/south. Was pretty productive in conjunction with Shawn Southward, who will be a junior next season.

Not really a sleeper anymore but I love Delone Carter from Syracuse. The only concern I have is his speed.

Dang it, you guys took my Bradford pick. Granted, the only time I did get to watch him was his monster game against Washington so I don't have a full picture, but he looked great. Good size, looks for contact, can get yards after contact. Definitely a power back.
I hear he has a hip injury though? That seems to be a recurring issue. Big red flag.
