Larry Johnson had 457 touches in 06. Now that's getting run into the ground.

IF Jamaal had that many touches he would have 3000 yards from scrimmage

If Charles had that many touches, he'd be averaging a lot less per touch.

If Charles was the lone back in that offense, he would've gone over 2,000 yards easily this year.

Todd Haley is such a ****.

I hated the shared time earlier in the year, but it's about to start paying off. Charles is 100% injury free and has relatively fresh legs. Watch out these last five weeks. He is a must start in fantasy! :D

Whoda thunk it? That's a lot better than him rolling an ankle or sustaining some other nagging injury trying to convert a third and two in week six huh?

I'm not buying it. I think the reason Charles has been so effective and the reason his YPC is through the roof is because he isn't asked to pound the ball between the tackles 20 times a game. They have Thomas Jones for that. I'm not saying he couldn't do it, but I think he'd be much less effective as a runner if he was asked to. Again, not saying Charles wouldn't have more yards with more carries, but I think you'd see his YPC drop heavily if he had 300 carries instead of 200 at the end of the season.

I don't think people realize that 25 touches a game is 400 on the year... Only a couple backs do that every season and Charles shouldn't be one of them. I think his workload is perfect for him will finish this season with ~300 touches and 2000 APY. He'll have 60 more touches than he did last year probably while sharing the load with another back even though Charles was the only guy for the last 8 weeks last year, and he's pretty much got a perfect 50-50 split, he has 193 touches to Jones 184 so far this year, although I wouldn't be surprised to see it go further in Charles favor later in the year.

To the people saying they'd like to see Charles get more goal line and short yardage looks, that would be lame because it'd make his YPC go down :P Let Jones take the hits for those important 1 yard gains ;)

I think 20 touches a game is a good number, with around 15 carries. I think he's just explosive enough in that type of role, and while he can get more carries and touches and handle it but for how long? I think the mix is right, he doesn't need very many touches to make big plays and if you have the right type of back to do the dirty work and tire a defense out that's plenty of chances for Charles to make a big play.

Also I think you've got to admit his YPC is where it is because he doesn't have to get the runs inside the 3 yard line, which somebody like Chris Johnson is. I don't wanna say that Charles can't handle getting the ball that many times, but his lower body is alot thinner then Chris Johnsons', I would be concerned if he was getting over 400 touches a season.

This is such a stat-obsessed opinion though. If Charles YPC is going way down because the Chiefs are relying on him in short-yardage situations, that doesn't make him a worse player, it just lowers the degree to which Chiefs fans can geek out over his numbers.

I think having another runner on that offense is important, but I also think it's quite clear that Charles has been underutilized this year. That is less and less the case, but early in the year they were using Charles barely at all.

I loved him coming out of college and he hasn't disappointed. Easily the best back in the league this year, imo.

Charles is the 1st RB in history to run for 1100 yards in fewer than 200 carries, not 1000 yards. He's on pace to do it again this year.

Huge game vs the Chargers this week. If they win, they pretty much clinch the division and eliminate SD from playoff contention.

The Raiders ran all over the Chargers, so it will be interesting to see how they handle the 2 headed monster of Charles and Jones.

Can the #1 ranked defense get run over 2 weeks in a row? I don't see it, but who knows.

The Raiders ran all over the Chargers, so it will be interesting to see how they handle the 2 headed monster of Charles and Jones.

Can the #1 ranked defense get run over 2 weeks in a row? I don't see it, but who knows.
If San Diego can beat KC and Oakland can beat Jacksonville, the last three weeks of the season become awesome. I would expect SD and KC to take their week 15 and 16 games and if Oakland can manage to beat Indy in week 16 as well then that Oak/KC game would be the decider of the division (Oakland would be 9-6 heading into that game, KC would be 10-5). Even if KC lost that game, they might have a shot at a WC spot.

Jags/Raiders is going to be such an awesome matchup. The two of them combined for 105 rushes for for 509 rushing yards yesterday.

Yeah, it could happen if Baltimore blows a couple of games. And with their schedule, that's entirely possible.
