2-4 in conference and 4-5 overall says otherwise. They are an okay team. Might go to a bowl this year. They'd be a lot better if Persa wasn't hurt.

Today Ohio State said that they are imposing a 5 scholarship penalty over the next 3 years for the Bobby DiGeronomo related incident. That's not the tattoo incident. That stuff probably comes out in December. This isn't a huge deal considering Ohio State undersigns in recruiting almost every year, so 5 over a 3 year span isn't too bad for the booster blunder.

Ohio State gets a Failure to Monitor charge from the NCAA from the DiGeronomo stuff though. New hearing in December like I said. TBD from there as far as additional penalties. FTM would equal loss of scholarships. If they hit us with LOIC then we would get a bowl ban most likely. Hoping that doesn't happen.

Kirk Ferentz is now the dean of the Big Ten. If for whatever reason he decides to jump to the NFL this offseason, Ron Zook will be the longest tenured Big Ten coach.

Goddamnit. Whatever the NCAA hands us is obviously deserved. I just want it to be official already I'm sick of waiting on the NCAA to officially give us our penalties. We're not going to be able to appeal anything - it's as clear as day how badly Tressel ****** up.

The DiGeronomo thing wasn't really on Tressel. Tressel tried to keep him away from his players if you read Ohio State's report. Cooper would let boosters be on the sidelines for games, Tressel ended that. The Tattgate thing was on Tressel's mistake stemming from being forced to make tough decisions b/c his players put him in a difficult situation with their bone-headedness. Tressel's one flaw was not disclosing information about the tattoo parlor to his superiors in wake of the FBI investigation.

excuse me for being optimistic that Ohio State would be a crummy Purdue team after beating a fantastic Wisconsin team. Everyone knew that OSU could win the Leaders division after that win, but we all also knew that winning out was gonna be tough. Blocked extra point away from being in the driver's seat for the division title.

I can't believe how much our defense has regressed after dominant performances against MSU, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

A fan of the team from up north came into my place of work today as I was leaving, gave him the "O" and shouted "THE Ohio State" long story short he got stuck behind me getting out of the parking lot, so I drove 5 MPH down the road so he could get a glimpse of my vanity plate: "Buceyes"

Might hear about it tomorrow from my boss... totally worth it

You realize how many people are Ohio State fans without going to school here? Most people in Ohio are Buckeyes fans regardless of whether they go to school.

Yeah, that's the joke. I also grew up in Ohio, but never identified with Ohio State because I didn't go to school there. Everyone jokes that Ohio State and Michigan are full of fans who didn't actually attend the university.

At least Ohio and Michigan are states with pro teams to cheer for. Now look at Iowa. like 75% of the state are Hawkeye fans, and I have to put up with about 75% of that population that never attended the university and coincidentally that same percentage are morons. Not to mention a good portion of those that did attend are also morons, but that's a whole different story on how I loathe our fanbase.

See I didn't grow up in Ohio and go here, so I wasn't an OSU fan until my senior year of high school once I decided to go here. But the support OSU has across the state is like nothing I've ever seen before, mainly because Columbus has no sports teams, there's no other major college in Ohio, and ohios pro teams blow.

Minnesota is the exact opposite. Only the alumni are fans, and even then more than half of them don't give a ****. Pro sports run Minneapolis/St. Paul.
