Reiff would be a pro bowler at guard. No doubt in my mind. If we then get Fisher or Joeckel at #5, the line starts looking pretty dam good.

It all depends on the terms whether its a smart move or not. Durant was clearly better last year, but maybe he wanted too much. Neither deserves huge money and Levy can still improve IMO. I do like his coverage ability. I think he does well against TEs and RBs.

Yah, ideally he becomes a stud RT, but I have no doubt he'd be a stud OG and I"m ok with that.

Reiff wasn't draft terribly high so if he moved to guard it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
They had to bring back one of Levy and Durant. Will be interested to see the terms of the deal. If the numbers come out early usually the agent won so its a good we don't know right now.

3 years for Levy. Better coverage LB, younger and 3 down LB over Durant who struggled in coverage. Levy was playing really well last year until he hurt his groin. Durant could be back too.

I doubt it, I doubt Gos is back and even if we draft a new LT, RT is still more important than any OG. I suppose, if we draft say Fisher and Backus resigns, we could stick Reiff at OG for a year till Backus retires, then move Fisher to LT and Reiff to RT the following year..

You never know. They could like Fox and Hilliard to battle for RT or they plan on drafting a tackle. Reiff is versatile. Even if he play guard this year he could move back to RT or LT next year depending on the draft. Just start Reiff and wherever he plays hopefully he does really well along with Backus and whoever else at Right Tackle or Right Guard

I take it that we're going to enjoy raiding the post-draft FA vet scrap heap with our cash.

I tend to agree, once again I think Mayhew is doing his best to signal that we are taking a OT at 5 (as he should). Maybe I'm guilty of trying to read between the lines too much but it's certainly our best way to trade down.

We are probably going to lose - Cliff Avril, Chris Houston, Louis Delmas, Sammie Lee Hill
We are bringing in - Reggie Bush and ?
If Stafford signed a new deal they could actually do something in free agency. Maybe it will come out tomorrow but I doubt it.

I am really hoping for a clean sweep and a pick-up of FA's like Dashon Goldson, Greg Toler CB, Ramses Barden and Michael Bennett.

I've convinced myself to be fine with losing Avril and Delmas. I want Houston and would love to have SLH back.

Deep CB and safety free agent pool. Can get Houston/Delmas back or equivalents IMO.
I will miss SLH run defense. Lions are interested in Jason Jones DT/DE. Former Titan and Seahawk. And William Hayes

It looks like it's down to the Lions or Cards for Reggie Bush.

If we can somehow end up with Bush, Goldson and a starting CB, I'll **** my pants.
I had a dream last night that we drafted Star Lotulelei

Yeah, didn't like seeing Hayes re-sign with STL. Ten minutes until Reggie becomes a Lion.

Give me Glover Quinn, draft 2 bodies for the secondary, and I should be happy enough with that unit.

Working on a 3 year deal with Houston. Quinn and Bush visiting tomorrow. Jason Jones already visited. Contract offer to Hixon.
Levy deal 3 year 9.75 million with a 3 million signing bonus
Young 2nd round tender, Spievey and Osgood re-signed to cheap one year deals
Big day tomorrow

Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole reports the Lions are offering Reggie Bush an opportunity to be their "full-time" running back, starting over Mikel Leshoure.
Cutting Scheffler is looking almost certain as the Lions are about $5m under the cap at present and obviously need much more room to make these signings. The Lions would save $2.45M in cap space and $1.95M in base salary with Scheffler gone.
An extension for Stafford and reducing his $20.82M cap number is going to get done eventually, but they badly need it done sooner rather than later.

Finally get to see Reggie on my lions. I think he should keep the offense moving quicker to start games by moving the chains on short yards via screens/dump offs/delays. If we can start scoring early, I think we're gonna be a headache for any team we face.
