Herschel Walker wants Comeback at 49
http://www.businessinsider.com/a-her...istoric-2011-1
At 49 Years old we think he could make it on an NFL Team. I guess he ran a 40 in the 4.4's and I think he was a UFC Fighter.

The funny thing is I can't totally rule it out, if anyone can play in their late 40's it would be Herschel Walker

Probably not at running back, but if he still has some speed maybe as a kick returner. I know besides Deion he was the fastest guy on the Cowboys back in 97 when he returned kicks for us. Who knows, but I'd certainly like to see him try.

He certainly looks like he's in better shape now than he was back then. He said in an interview on ESPN radio the other day that he still runs sub 4.40. The guy is an absolute freakish physical specimen, scientists should be studying him.

I think he could do it. He's never been injured and is the most in-shape human being on the planet.

If he can take the hits. If he is running full speed and Patrick Willis hits him will he get back up and do it again.

I'm thinking maybe he could draw a training camp tryout....maybe even get to play in a preseason game. Would probably be a publicity stunt for some extra ticket sales only though.

So which one of the eight Herschel Walkers wants to make a comeback?

He could play and be average for 5 plays a game, yes. Ask anything more and you'll tumble down the downward spiral of nagging injuries.

I'd guess he could be a backup RB getting a handful of touches a game. A larger role would probably lead to injuries due to his age.

It would be a cool story but I just don't see it happening.

it's not like he was the best NFL runningback even when he was a young man. Like he could do anything at 49 competing with a bunch of young 25 year old NFL runningbacks.

I don't know, but I would sure as hell love to see him try it. How cool would that be? I actually think he has a somewhat decent chance if he can get back into football shape. We know he's in kick your ass shape right now, but those two are different things. Hope someone brings him in for a camp.
If he does make it, I've got one of those vibes about this one that he does something completely ridiculous and runs for a ton of yards.
