That is the problem. It isn't marketing. It's all about your timeslot and CBS was smart when they moved TBBT to anchor their Thursday comedy block.

If NBC were smart they'd move The Office into that timeslot and let Community do its thing afterwards. Community, as far as ratings go, is not a headliner. It's an 8/8:30 show.

NBC kept Chuck on Mondays at 7 for 4 years, so I doubt we'll see Community moved any time soon.

That would be the logical thing to do but hey, we're talking about NBC.

If I was in charge, Thursdays would look like this in the fall of 2011:

8:00- The Office
8:30- Community
9:00- Parks & Rec
9:30- Free Agents/Up All Night (probably Free Agents)

Tuesday is always Biggest Loser for NBC. The new season doesn't start until September though. Competing against American Idol is what kills it. I would prefer either 7:30 or 8:30. The start of 30 Rock is going to get delayed since Tina Fey's expecting around that time. Community could step into that slot.

I just think that they came on heavy with the drama towards the end of last season, I didn't see a reason to open the season with it. I view Community much in the same light that I used to view Scrubs, and I really hope they follow that template (I loved Scrubs). I've always felt that Scrubs was one of the best examples of modern TV in combining sitcom staples with incredibly touching dramatic moments (My Screwup is heartbreaking at the end), and I really hope Community sticks to being funny with the occasional heartfelt moments throughout.
