I was going to put this thread up right away after the Super Bowl but someone didn't think a poll was a good idea so I didn't, even though at PackerForum there were like 60 Packer fans who voted within a day, now I see at USA Today they have it as a question even, so I guess we're worthy here at DraftCountdown to utilize the poll function. http://content.usatoday.com/communit...-2011-season/1
Being Super Bowl champs, we get to open the season on the Thursday Night NBC game, at home.
We have 2 Marquee games to choose from.
-Chicago
-New Orleans
*The Bears game is a rematch of the NFC Championship game, and obviously a big rivalry, plus the Cutler factor. But it's more of a local rivalry in that people on the East coast, South, West don't really care, and the Bears games are usually more boring, ugly games and people have "seen it, done it" many times.
*The Saints game is a matchup of the 2 most recent Super Bowl champions, and features the best 2 QBs in the league not named Brady or Peyton.... and both teams light up the scoreboard. It could be a 34-30 type of fun game.
The last time we played them, was in 2008 in New Orleans on Monday Night Football, and it was a shootout, until late 3rd quarter when they blew us out.
I think it would be to our advantage to get the Bears this week, and save the Saints for cold December weather, but if I was NBC, I'd choose the Saints-Packers matchup here for the opening Primetime showcase.
If you were NBC, which game would you choose for the national primetime opener?
