The Final Countdown Game: Come play!
Here we are gang! Down to the final stretch with the finishing line in sight!
We're just 3 days away from the draft, so put together all of your draft notes and thoughts about what your team will ultimately end up doing on Draft Day and enter those predictions here.
On Wednesday night at 12 Midnight EST, I will lock this thread and no more entries or changes can be made to your predictions.
Then when the draft is completed, we'll calculate the scores to see who the winners were.
We'll have a winner for the highest scoring poster from each team, and then we'll have an overall winner and a Big Board to show the scores.
Prizes
Winners for each of the 32 teams will receive sig tags.
Overall winner will receive a unique sig tag.
* In case of a tie, the tie breaker will go to the poster who's team has a lower first pick.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is how the scoring will occur:
Correctly guess the player selected by your team in Round 1 - 1 point
Correctly guess the player selected by your team in Round 2 - 2 points
Correctly guess the player selected by your team in Round 3 - 3 points
Correctly guess the player selected by your team in Round 4 - 4 points
Correctly guess the player selected by your team in Round 5 - 5 points
Correctly guess the player selected by your team in Round 6 - 6 points
Correctly guess the player selected by your team in Round 7 - 7 points
Bonus Points:
If you guess the correct player at the correct pick number - 2 points
If you guess correctly that your team will trade their pick in whatever Round is specified (pick # of traded pick must be specified) - 3 points
If you select the right player, but the wrong round - 1 point
You only get 1 entry and 1 scenario!!! So make your predictions count! There is no, IFs! No, saying if x player is on the board, then we'll trade up or else we'll trade down. There is only 1 prediction! Are you the man? Prove it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So obviously, some teams have more picks than other teams. So the chances for earning points vary. Therefore, to make up the difference we will up with a multiplication ratio. Tentatively it's this:
I don't know the min/max # of picks each team has so, I just listed 1 to 13.
# of picks your team originally has vs. multiplication ratio
1 - 0.142857143
2 - 0.285714286
3 - 0.428571429
4 - 0.571428571
5 - 0.714285714
6 - 0.857142857
7 - 1
8 - 1.142857143
9 - 1.285714286
10 - 1.428571429
11 - 1.571428571
12 - 1.714285714
13 - 1.857142857
So basically, for example... if your team has 4 picks and you score an 8 or your team has 8 picks and you score a 16, both players will end up with the same score based off the ratio's above.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fill out the following information in this thread to enter:
NFL Team Name:
Round (Pick #) - Player's Name, School
ie.
Dallas Cowboys
Round 1 (6) - Patrick Peterson, LSU
Round 1 (9) - Traded
Round 2 (40) - Allen Bailey, Miami
Round 3 (71) - Traded
Round 4 (110) - Demarcus Love, Arkansas
Round 5 (143) - Demarcus Van Dyke, Miami
Round 6 (176) - Stanly Havili, USC
Round 7 (220) - Josh Bynes, Auburn
Round 7 (252) - Kai Forbath, UCLA
You can find your team's picks (by round and number) here (if you have ESPN Insider): http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/teams
Good Luck to all!!!

Well This should be fun. BTW, if i think we will trade a 2nd round pick to trade up, do i still include that in the list of picks in case they dont trade down? Also do we have to correctly guess which pick we trade up to, to get the points?

Yes. See my Cowboys trade scenario above. You can make notes to make things clearer.
If you trade up and get the player wrong, you get points.
If you trade up and get the player right, you get extra points.

Question - What if I correctly predict a player, but it's in the wrong round? Isn't that almost like if you predict a trade, correctly name the player but it's the wrong slot?
I don't wanna correctly name 5 players my team will pick but lose to someone that named 2.
Philadelphia Eagles
1 - 23 - Jimmy Smith CB Colorado
2 - 54 - Bruce Carter LB North Carolina
3 - 85 - Jaiquawn Jarrett S Temple
3 - 96 - Will Rackley G Lehigh (f/GB)

5 - 149 - Brandon Fusco C Slippery Rock
7 - 229 - Miguel Chavis DT Clemson

Bonus points will be in addition to the points scored for right round, correct?
Ex: Pouncey @ 17 to NE would net 3 points total. 1 point for Pouncey in round 1 and 2 bonus points for right player / right pick?
EDIT:
New England Patriots
1st Round (17) – Gabe Carimi, Wisconsin
1st Round (28) – Mark Ingram, Alabama
2nd Round (33) – Traded
2nd Round (60) – Leonard Hankerson, Miami
3rd Round (74) – James Carpenter, Alabama
3rd Round (92) – Johnny Patrick, Louisville
4th Round (125) – K.J. Wright, Mississippi State
5th Round (159) – Ahmad Black, Florida
6th Round (193) – Owen Marecic, Stanford

Wow. This one is too hard to interpret the trades. If you could help by listing the trades then that would help.
