Anyone been? Have any tips on where to go, best bars, pools, etc?

Me and a buddy are going late July to celebrate graduation for 4 nights. Thinking about staying at the Flamingo, but other than that, going into it without much Vegas knowledge. Let me know is SWDC has any Vegas knowledge/stories they're willing to share

Boy have I got some stories lol

Studio 54 was pretty cool. I don't remember the name of the one in the NY/NY. I had gone to a Reggae concert earlier and I was drunk so the names of these clubs are a blur. We stayed in the Palms and the club in there was pretty badass! Also went to the Island themed club in Planet Hollywood

I went to one bar and it was at the Palms. Ghost Bar or some **** lol pretty solid

dress codes are enforced so bring dress pants/shirt/shoe/etc

you dont need a tie, but bitches dig ties

Went last summer for 4 days. Spent 2 nights at the Flamingo and 2 nights at MGM. MGM is a little more expensive but has a nicer pool and is much bigger. The Flamingo had a nice "adult" show.
You shouldn't have to buy many drinks for yourself at all. Just sit at the slots and you get free drinks. Tip the waitress a dollar at least if you want her to come back though.
Studio 54 (MGM) and LAX (LUXOR) are a couple of decent night clubs I went to. Pure (Caesar's Palace) is pretty nice too.
If you're in to strip clubs you can probably haggle your way for a free limo to one if you talk to enough people.
If you like rides you can try the coaster at NYNY or the stratosphere if you have big cajones.

Nice tips so far. We were thinking of Flamingo because A) relatively cheap B) awesome location and C) we heard the pool was really good.
Is it worth it to upgrade to a really nice hotel though? Can't imagine spending much time in the room so that definitely does not matter.

PS, whats the deal with getting into clubs? Its just guys going, so are we going to be waiting in line for hours, or is not that bad if we show up early? Read ones like LAX are amazing but impossible to get into for dudes.

I didn't have a problem with waiting in line. See if you can talk to the dudes working outside of the club before you go in. Me and my friends got a VIP booth super cheap by haggling with one of the dudes.

If some club promoter comes up to you gives you a band to skip lines at the clubs be prepared to stand in line with everyone else that got one so that means everyone. So ignore those people and just go. Be prepared to be harrassed by pedro and the gang with porno call cards. Gambling at night the minimum bet goes up. Taxi drivers in Vegas does not give a **** about life.

The Stratosphere has a topless pool where the girls get in for free and the guys have to pay $10. My guess is if you go that there will be all men hoping for girls to show up. You could always ride the insane rides at the top of the hotel.

I heard there is a new hotel that opened up called The Cosmopolitan but I havent been. I havent been since Aria opened up either.

haha We tried using those club cards and fell into that same trap. Some 21 year old girl with big boobs and a skinny body walks right up to the front of the line and they immediately let her in because she didnt have a bf. Oh the benefits you get if you are a female that is young and attractive. We asked what we would have to do to skip the line and the guy working there said "You have to buy two $175 bottles of liquor and thats a minimum." Basically be prepared to wait like bantx said.

I went on one of them and it was awesome. Especially when you sit on the first seat since that is the one that is completely off the track as well. I didnt get to go on the one that drops you really fast since it was too windy and they closed it.

I stayed in the Strat earlier this year and watched someone Bungee off, friggin insane, and pretty surreal when you are sitting in the bar having a drink and hear a massive scream as someome flashes by!

Last time I went to Vegas was for a bachelor party about 8 years ago. We went to the Crazy Horse Too. The strippers were super hot. We posted up in our own section. Had a contest to see who could bring over the hottest dancer. The winner got $100 to "spend" in the champaign room. I hooked up with a stripper that night. It was amazing. Told her I was a plastic surgeon and she was wet all night. It was too easy. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the stripper a drink if asked, unless you're into buying a $20 glass of water. I may or may not have learned that one the hard way lol. Also, don't wear jeans to a strip club. Wear slacks. Strippers won't grind you in jeans.

You can bungee off the side of the strat for sure. I think if you back out you don't get your money back though.

Dress nicely. Bring out a nice suit and tie.

Do some gambling but only gamble with a set amount of money. Never chase your losses.

Money will get you anything you want in Vegas, come prepared to spend.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Im not going to gamble much (I've worked as a blackjack dealer before, been a tad turned off by it) so I shouldn't waste too much money doing that, other than a couple hands and penny slots collecting free drinks.

That ride looks ridic., definitely will check that out. As for clubs, guess we'll play it by ear, see where we end up. Will try to get into a couple high end ones though. PS, any shows worth seeing? None seemed worth the high prices to me, but I feel like we should check out at least one.

Planning on sightseeing, cruising the strip, and drinking poolside by day, and going out all night. 4 nights is what we're settling on. Some people said 3 should be plenty, but we're spending the airfare from Detroit, might as well milk it for what it's worth. Pretty pumped.

I was on the fence about bringing my suit, but apparently I should. Clubs here, I usually just go nice jeans and button up shirt....but Vegas it's go big or go home I guess... should be fun actually, will add to the experience. Can't wait.

My friend just found out he won from a contest we entered at the Luxor last August.
Free trip for four to Orlando and some kind of trip for two back to Vegas. I think he's also got a chance at a corvette somehow. Couldn't get clarity from him on that part.
