Is anyone aware of a relatively recent Top NHL Prospect ranking I can put even a little bit of trust in? I'm wildly unaware of who the best prospects truly are.

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospect-rankings/ isn't perfect, but it's a pretty good list.

I guess hockey coverage isn't anything like baseball when it comes to prospects, even in Canada.

Quincey ending up on the Red Wings is still one of my favorite things the Avalanche have gotten done in the past few years. It's either that or the Elliot-Anderson trade which helped us tank far enough to get Landeskog, sabotaged Ottawa's tanking to let us pass them, and create a hole that Greg from Accounting filled with Varlamov.

HF has a criteria for Prospects. I think it's under 46 NHL games for skaters? EIther way they're pretty good for some teams, absolutely atrocious for others, Avs and Sharks come to mind as teams they don't even have anyone covering.

He hasn't been amazing, but Erik Johnson's 15/4 contract was less than I expected. Not too bad. Their payroll looks like it won't be so high, with O'Reilly left to sign.

Take everything HF says with a large grain of salt. The guys who write there are homers. That and they usually update once or twice a season.
@ Xio
If you really want in depth prospect coverage, go to the team boards. Those guys know more on a player's style of play and ceiling/floor.

Wings are going to be mediocre. Time to sign Semin and Doan though.

Sadly, that won't help the defense. Perhaps Jimmy Howard can morph into Jonathan Quick, haha
In all honesty, the Kings' defense isn't stocked with players we widely consider to be great defenders and they limit goals pretty damn well. If Babcock can adjust the system the Wings run, they can probably survive until another top pairing guy becomes available somehow.
I expect Holland can find a team with a spare defenseman to swap for one of our spare forwards. I'm thinking Drew Miller would be a player another team would find use for in such a scenario.

I'll unite the Miller brothers in exchange for Adam Pardy. I really don't think you get much of a dman for Drew.

I wasn't suggesting they'd get anything more than a No. 6 defenseman for him. Just saying there's bound to be a team with a spare defenseman under contract that could be swapped for an extra forward. The Wings have to alleviate their logjam up front, especially if they intend to sign Semin or Doan.
Miller is signed for under 1 million and had like 15 goals and 30 points last year. He's useful, if unspectacular.

Miller is a fine bottom-6 piece. I would gladly take him. We might not need it, though.

EJ's pretty amazing defensively, and few people are as unstoppable at rushing the puck up ice as a pissed off EJ, unfortunately he's too nice to get pissed off often.

Not sure if any of you rock hats frequently, but I have been starved for a decent Wild hat for years and finally found a winner on this site: http://www.ecapcity.com/new-era-fitt...-era-hats.html

I wonder if the Pens go after Semin. I don't think I'd like it too much, but his goal scoring ability isn't matched by many. I just don't like his attitude nor the comments he made about Sid. He'll probably ask for a lot as well.

People seriously want Semin on their team? I know you automatically want the best FA on your team, but I don't see him having any chemistry on that club. His ass just needs to take his show to the KHL
