Yeah, I'm a little confused by this. Are my offers in combination with my RFA's good to go? I just don't want to hit the deadline and then be told something is messed up and have everything void.

Sam Young wasn't an RFA, he had a team option which Memphis exercised.

What happened to this? I thought he had to withdraw offers if he wanted to sign Hill.

I didn't know about this. I'll let STRIP handle it. He can undo what I did.

Is there going to be a decision made about Tyson Chandler soon? The bidding should be closed and I really need to know if I signed him or if I can use those 14m elsewhere

So what do you guys think of this method for FA compared to how it was done in the past?

It has potential, it just sucks that we don't find out decisions on bids until after the deadline. For example, my team. I have a $13.5mil offer out to Tyson Chandler that I feel confident in, but I won't know for sure until a decision is made. In the event I don't sign him, I can't go back and put a bid in on a guy like Nene (or use that money elsewhere), who I would have to money for. Teams are negotiating with multiple guys at a time usually, not just putting all of their eggs in one basket and hoping it works out.

Well that's kind of real life though. Players don't wait till the end to see who bids highest. If they see an offer they like, they sign.

I agree with that completely. My point is teams are negotiating with and getting feedback from the players, not just offering a contract and saying "Well if we end up signing this guy we have no more cap space, so we better not offer any more contracts". They have backup plans. If you're offering a big contract, this method forces you to put all of your eggs in one basket and hope you get the guy, because if you don't there's no plan B.

I'm not really concerned with what you have to say. You won't be in any mocks I run in the future.

so does STRIP's offer for Humphries stand? Like do I need to be concerned with matching once he updates his salary or is his offer invalid?

I'm not really concerned with that fact. I'm just trying to help improve the system.

I haven't signed anyone yet. Sam Young was the only signing but rescinded as we learned Memphis had picked up his team option, Thad Young offer, Sixers matched it. I have two offers right now for Humphries and Chandler, I still have space for both if it happened.

Unless someone offers more I pretty much resign to the fact that he'd take your deal.

Final Rockets Roster:
PG: Kyle Lowry/Jordan Farmar/Keyon Dooling
SG: John Salmons/Ronnie Brewer/Courtney Lee/Reggie Williams
SF: Thabo Sefelosha/Chris Singleton
PF: Andrea Bargnani/Taj Gibson/Brian Cardinal
C: Chris Kaman/Anderson Varejao/Aaron Gray
I noticed my team was too defensive so I added Bargnani, Reggie Williams, and Salmons. With Salmons, Brewer, Lee, Sefolosha, and Singleton, my perimter defense will be sick. Also love having Taj Gibson and Anderson Varejao come off the bench. Aaron Gray can also body up some of the big guys in the league. My inactives would be Dooling, Cardinal, and Gray when he's not needed. Otherwise it would be Williams.
