You're not kidding. That's Allen Bailey territory, with the flat chest to boot. No bad weight and jacked like crazy.

:O at Dekoda Watson.

Thanks for the link! Good to see anything new related to the Bucs, even if it's not much more than a glorified walk-through.

Watson looks like the Incredible Hulk out there.

Clayborn struggled with the heat, so the mini-camp should be a nice opportunity for him to somewhat get used to it. Hope he'll keep on working out in the area during the offseason. Don't want to see him gassed in the 2nd half of games when the Bucs are protecting a lead.

It looks like Brian Price might begin the season the PUP list. Honestly, after he described the injury, it's going to be hard for him to stay healthy. His tendons are all attached by screws to one point someone who looked at his xrays asked him how he was even walking?

I don't know how he'll have a successful football career with that injury, but he is hopeful.

Tanard Jackson has shown up to mini camp. This is a good sign of how he's stayed in touch with his teammates and how much they appreciate him in the lockerroom.

If he is over his guanj smoking days, this guy is a leader in the lockerroom and playmaker on the field.

If he's back, this could be a huge year for us.

McKenzie has been getting groomed for Mike so i think he stays there. I think we bring back Black.

week1: Black, McKenzie, Hayes

Foster and Watson are great depth and could move in by the end of the year. I hope we get Heyward back too.

I want to replace Hayes. He gets pushed out of so many plays, it's ridiculous.

Foster can play multiple LB positions, but I remember him saying WLB is his best postion.

SLB- Watson or Black
MLB- McKenzie( guy helped Freeman gather the rest of the defensive crew along with McCoy. Talent, work ethic, football player and leader. Could be the next Nickerson.
WLB: Foster

SLB: Black. Not sure why everyone's so eager to replace him. We have cap room and he was our best LB last year. We need at least 1 vet and I sure as $h1t don't want it to be Ruud. Watson might be good enough to start but I'd rather have him for depth. Lose Black and Ruud and we're depending on young guys (fine) but then depth is an issue.

MLB: McKenzie. He was a decent prospect coming out of USF. Very productive and athletic enough to start in the NFL. His leadership and intangibles have sold me. He can't be worse than Ruud!

WLB: Foster. I expect him to be our leading tackler from day 1. He's a very good football player. If McKenzie doesn't pan out then Hayes can start at WLB with Foster in the middle.

Hayward is a good special teamer. We can do better for a backup LB but I'd keep him for ST value. Hayes is good depth. So is Watson. 3 backups that are young, good special teamers and have starting experience. That's what you hope for.

Finally somebody with at least an ounce of football acumen that agrees with me about Black. I got blasted at JoeBucsFan by Joe himself for my belief in Black. Apparently, Joe dismissesthe fact that Black had the most productive season of any Sam LB in our T-2 (over June, Singleton, Nece, Gooch, Quarles, Porter) and the fact that Black is the most physically gifted LB to ever don a Buc uni seems to make him discount his potential as well. Personally, I'd love to see Black's speed and size at Mike where he can run sideline to sideline and get up the seam in coverage. I feel his superior physical gifts are going to waste a tad bit at Sam. (http://www.joebucsfan.com/?p=50198#comments) Seems to me that owning and running a website somehow makes one believe he knows something about football.

I read that article about Black and it confused me to no end...how can you value Cadillac over Black? Cadillac is a mediocre 3rd down back and poor backup RB, while Black is a starting OLB....huh? His arguments were very poor for that "analysis" as well, and of course all his followers came running to his side. Pretty funny. Black is still young and has years of this defense under his belt. I'd rather bring him back and let him enter his prime at his talent level than look for a 1st-year replacement with less talent who will likely demand the same amount of money. The young depth we have is exciting, but Ruud and Hayes are the ones who should be taking a backseat, not Black.

Ruud is an awful run defender. Like one guy said in that thread, having a better DL won't make Ruud a physical hitter who can fill an alley and stick a RB. Someone also mentioned gap integrity, but Ruud lost his gap far more often than Black did from what I remember. Hayes is simply too small, but we could get away with him at WLB if we had a more dominating DL and physical MLB. There aren't any circumstances where Ruud is a good fit. He's not even practicing with the team right now, but Tyrone McKenzie has already become a leader. That tells me all I need to know.

I'm not sold on paying LeGarrette Blount either. He had a good year and I hope he stays healthy and continues to play well, but a lot of RBs only have 1-2 good years in a career. Blount isn't a pass receiver or blocker yet, he has fumbling issues, and he's also not practicing with the team right now. As fans we shouldn't be committing ourselves to him long-term, and neither should the team. There's no risk in waiting for him to continue to prove himself since he was an UDFA and is being paid very little.
