I have a question, this is probably more for damix, but i'm trying to set up my own minecraft server and I am having serious problems. I set up portforwarding on my router and opened port 25565, i downloaded the minecraft_server.exe file and I got the server working locally, I have verified that the port is showing on canyouseeme.org, but I cannot connect to the IP address to save my life. Anyone have any clue?

Are you using your local IP to try and connect? Local IPs are 192.168.1.* usually.

If you are usuing your actual IP - are you putting the port in when trying to connect? Like you can see my IP:PORT when I post it.

I actually figured it out. When i just had the server set up on my mac i was using a port mapping software verses setting up port forwarding on my router. I was able to connect to my ip:port then. I think it may be the way it was set up, but I was only able to connect using the 192.168.0.x IP on my laptop now that it is on a different host pc. I don't know, but i had my friend login to the server and verified it is working. Thanks for your help.
