Default Should Terrelle Pryor convert over to WR once and for all?

Matt Jones was a former QB who blazed the 40. He went from QB to WR not TE and was pretty successful doing so before his off the field issues forced himself out of the league. No shade on Jones. He was a solid WR. I used the comparison, because it fits. Both players former NCAA QBs, both 6'5"-6'6" 240+ lbs. and clocked 4.3 40s at their respective show day.

In all honesty, I believe Pryor's situation would have been no different than E.J.'s if he never got in trouble to where he had to enter the Supplemental Draft. Case and point he would have been selected no later than Round 2, which would've indicated he was a part of a team's plan to get him acclimated into the system, rather than to have him endure and go through the bottom feeder struggles now. I may be wrong, but I take it head on and look at the nuances of it all. That Tattoo issue put a huge dent on his career or the lack of one.

From the looks of it, TP has no shot at getting back on the field unless he makes the transition to play WR. It should have never took this long for TP to hit the field in Oakland, and even still while he was showing flashes there were doubts steady coming in. He just has to do what's best for him if he wants to be relevant and play for a bigger check at this stage into his career. At the end of the day, he would already understand route developments being a "former" QB.

I think he can stick on rosters as a backup, but probably nothing more than a spot-starter. He might be better as a receiver, but I wouldn't say he needs to switch positions or anything.

He should switch to DE. Great athleticism plus he'd know what the QBs are thinking. He'd probably lead the league in hypothetical sacks very quickly after the switch.

He's been trying out for teams as a Wide Receiver. He got beat out in Philly by Greg Little...

I always thought he should give TE a shot...useless blocker but would probably be effective in the slot

Terrelle Pryor is still the most physically gifted QB in the NFL.

Faster than RG3, taller than Kaepernick, similar arm to Cam Newton.

Is he still on the roster in Seattle???

Call me crazy but this is the guy Chip Kelly should have traded for.

I still don't know why some team isn't trying to build an offense around Pryor's skillset.

1. Chip worked him out last year after Seattle released him and wasn't impressed enough to sign him, so trading for him would have been a pretty bad idea, lol.

2. His mechanics and accuracy (probably related) are garbage.

He has the body of a quarterback god, but he doesn't know anything about passing. This whole year that he wasn't on a roster should have been spent training with Tom House instead of sitting around waiting for the phone to ring.

With that kind of physical ability, he should do whatever it takes to get his skills up. He could be making sooooooo much money.

Now, if I built an offense tailored to Mariota, I'd love to get Pryor signed to a cheap 4 year contract. I'd have him as the backup and hire an extra QB coach to spend hours with him each day.

Yeah, whatever the reason is, he just isn't a QB. My opinion is he panics and gets tunnel vision when he gets pressure, and in general isn't able to process information under duress.

He needs to not be a QB, IMO. But Andy Reid is a QB whisperer himself, so he might be able to fix Pryor.

We shall see. The guy is about to turn 26 and there is not a lot of tread on his tires. Lots of sportsballing left in that body. Let's see if he can do something with his immense raw talent.

He can't catch or throw (accurately) a football. He should convert to something outside of Pro Football.

Is he still on the roster in Seattle???

Call me crazy but this is the guy Chip Kelly should have traded for.

I still don't know why some team isn't trying to build an offense around Pryor's skillset.
His arm is not close to Cam's.

Andy Reid is the perfect coach for him IMO.

He really has a track record for developing QBs with Pryor's skillset.

By skillset, do you mean complete lack of QB ability?
