Ugghh...I just heard ESPN mention Vince Young as "a former pro bowl QB."
Ugh. Just Ugh. I don't care that he was the 9th or 10th alternate that year, I NEVER want to hear those terms used in conjunction with him again.

KC must not have wanted to lock Franklin up for more than 3-4 years. This is a solid signing, I think Gregg is one of the more unheralded guys for the Ravens over the last 8 years.

How much does Waters have in the tank at Guard? I'm hoping we give him a look at RG for a low cost 1-2 year thing.

HE was very good the first 10-12 weeks, started to sputter. He has enough in the tank for one year though. Lat year was his best year without Roaf and Shields

Its amazes me how stupid Polian and Irsay can be. Manning is telling them basically, "Pay me less money, get me some help." And they are so resisted to it. Sure Manning isnt flawless, but jeez how about some offensive line help? Or maybe some RB help?

Hell, they could find all seven Dragonballs and wish for Gholston to succeed and it still wouldn't work. The guy is probably the biggest defensive bust of the last decade.

Correct, Gholston is no where near 9000.

I don't know why everyone is still talking about Gholston. We signed him to a one year, veteran minimum deal and he's basically no more than glorified camp fodder. I'll be surprised if he makes final roster cuts. Then, he'll be gone again and everyone can put the hate safely away once more.

oh now....
You know if he signed with another team besides the Bears youd have a different opinion about it. lol
But I agree with ya. Theres no risk there so why not give him a shot.

Exactly, I'd say that about whoever he signed with though. Except the Packers. Then he could burn in hell.

I'm fairly certain that post is just seething with sarcasm. Or at least, god I hope it is.

If you actually read the article, the only one you can truly call stupid is Irsay. Polian and Manning appear to be on the same page, now hopefuly they can get Irsay out of the room.

Schefter wrote an article similar to this recently that made it seem more like Polian didnt want to look at and free agents besides resigning some of there own.
And yea, I actually did read the article.

I don't think the Gregg signing means that we won't/aren't pursuing Franklin too. We need depth along the entire DL and Franklin could be the answer at NT for many years, not just this one.
I like the Gregg signing but it's not who I wanted, obviously. Here is to hoping that Pioli still pulls the trigger on Franklin.

I don't think the Gholston deal is bad by any means. No reason NOT to sign him. If you can bring him in and tap into some of that physical ability and get him comfortable, you might have something. If not, you cut him. Low risk/high reward type thing.
