We can argue about VY all day (I personally believe he can indeed be a fairly good starter in this league, but to say Djck and Maclin will lose production is erroneous as they have proven they can be productive with any QB (McNabb, Kolb, Vick)

They would struggle in the sense that VY isnt a good deep ball passer. Desean is one of the, if not the best deep ball receiver in the league and Maclin is very good as well due to his speed. But these guys have no problem catching short to intermediate passes either, so idk why people dont think that VY couldnt come in for a game or 2 span and be successful.
If he was our starting QB for the entire season however? I would be worried.

Because they only tell part of the story. How about the fact that the Browns had an absolutely terrible pass rush with awful safeties to help Wright? Do your metrics show that?

You don't need to look at any advanced statistics aside from Cleveland's lack of sacks to see that their pass rush was weak in 2008, but for someone with as much talent as Eric Wright, you'd hope to see him perform better. Brandon McDonald was a little better opposite him in 2008, although he also allowed six touchdown passes. He could potentially turn things around in Detroit, but I don't think teams were exactly falling all over themselves to get this guy.

Ten potential bargains still available:
1. QB Marc Bulger, Ravens
Won't be offered any starting QB jobs but could serve as a mentor and quality backup on a West Coast team with a young starter.
2. WR Mark Clayton, Rams
Torn ACL put an end to a promising 2010 campaign. Has not fully recovered yet but seems like a low-cost risk worth taking.
3. OT Ryan Harris, Denver Broncos
Career was off to a promising start before being derailed due to injury. Is a capable starting right tackle when healthy.
4. DT John Henderson, Raiders
Very stout player against the run and can potentially fit in either a 4-3 or 3-4 defense. Best fit may come as 4-3 NT.
5. DT Pat Williams, Vikings
Will not be back with Minnesota but is still looking to continue his career. Still strong vs. the run and could potentially play 3-4 NT.
6. DE Raheem Brock, Seahawks
Recorded nine sacks last season and has only missed five games over the past eight seasons, all in 2007. Can play a little DT as well.
7. DE Andre Carter, Redskins
Is nearing the end of his career and failed to make the transition to 3-4 OLB but was very productive as recently as 2009 (11 sacks.)
8. DE Jacob Ford, Titans
Actually looked like a pretty good pass rusher in limited playing time last year. Undersized but could perform well as situational player.
9. LB Brandon Siler, Chargers
Actually had a pretty good 2010 season and is also a contributor on special teams. Still has quite a bit of production ahead of him.
10. SS Jarrad Page, Patriots
May be out of a job due to Patriots' depth at safety. Was productive in 2009 and decent in limited time in 2010.

Yea I mean I'm not saying VY over Vick by any means and it would certainly hurt a little, I just think they've adjusted to different QB's before and they would do it again.

John Henderson signed with the Raiders before the lockout.
Not sure how im feeling about the Huff re-signing. Didn't think he would be back but he better not slack off after getting paid.

I thought he had merely said he doesn't care if he starts. Which none the less throws up red flags to me, pretty much a guy saying I wan't the money but I don't want to really play

Probably true, but I do agree with Deep Threat on the subject of using statistics in football. There's just too many variables in this sports to just look at the statistics. Defiantly think you can get a whole ton of of information from them, but they don't always tell the entire story. Especially with bad teams. Wright got lit up last year and hasn't ever been the player some have billed him as, but I would be willing to wager he improves quite a bit playing with a stronger defensive line in Detroit. Enough to make him a starting caliber player? I don't know, but he's shown signs of life in his career before and is still young.

My bad, I was looking at the ESPN free agent tracker. Good move by Oakland. I like the way their defensive line is coming together.
I feel the same way about Huff. He is a quality safety when he wants to be, but might not have the same motivation. If Oakland is a contender this year, maybe he will step up.

I dunno. I heard the opposite. He didn't really enjoy that scenario last year just picking up a pay check.

I've heard rumors of both, but apparently he is most likely to re-sign with Baltimore to serve as a locker room guy and mentor to Joe Flacco.

Either way it doesn't sound like his heart is in the game, not a guy I would want on my team.

I wouldn't mind Atlanta bringing in Henderson or Williams on the cheap to fill the Grady Jackson role of a few years back.

Buffalo very close to signing Nick Barnett.
he canceled his visit to the lions because he was sticking around in buffalo after attending the walk-through practice

I would not mind the Giants pick up McClain, especially if we can't come to terms with Bradshaw (though I think we will).

Wow, I'm kind of furious that the Ravens got Vonta Leach. That's a pretty ideal addition for Ray Rice and a significant loss for Arian Foster. Should fit in with the team better than Le'Ron McClain did. Also found this Tweet interesting:

Forgotten aspect to signing Nate Clements, the Bengals will probably lose out on gaining a compensentory 3rd rnd pick in '12 draft for J.Joe
