They must really like him as an OLB in a 3-4. I think it is a little high myself. He's an athletic, high-motor guy with plenty of production so it makes sense he'd get paid. I'm just not sure it makes sense for the Colts to be the ones paying. Oh well, better than overpaying a slow zone corner w/a 5 year $43M contract. Oh wait we already did that with Kelvin Hayden a few years back.

Maybe the Ravens can give Brees Top 5 QB money instead of Flacco! Its genius!

Brees will only sign with the Ravens if he wants his neck to look like Peyton Manning's after spending a year playing behind the likes of Bryant McKinnie and Michael Oher. Mickey Loomis should be fired if he can't re-sign a top quarterback.

Loomis should and quite possibly could be relieved from duty for some other reasons now....

Brees isn't going anywhere, so everyone can just get that out of their heads right now.

What kind of contract does everyone think Brees will eventually sign? Brady's was for 5-$78, Peyton's 5-$90. Brees is 33, so I'm thinking something along the lines of 4-$80 considering natural contract inflation, etc.

Rumor had it that Brees wanted top 5 QB money, but the Saints weren't offering it.

I wonder if they'll change their tune now. A happy, participating in workouts and camp Drew Brees is probably their only shot at a productive 2012 season now.

The Saints are so ****** with everything that is going on.

Quote:
"Drew Brees is "livid" about being franchise tagged and not receiving a long-term contract, according to WIST-AM in New Orleans. The radio station cites sources in the Brees camp that he will not sign the franchise tag deal. Brees and the Saints have until July 15 to hammer out a long-term deal."

Ha, I remember this one game I played against the Falcons where Vick got hurt like 2 minutes into the game and they replaced him with Schaub...but they didn't switch up the playcalling. So this slow ass Schaub with 30 speed was trying to run all of these bootlegs and draws and kept getting CRUSHED. I had like 15 sacks in that game and then he got hurt.

I think their 3rd stringer was like DJ Shockley...that went about as well as you'd expect it.

Am I missing something? Is he not a top 5 QB in this league? Um ya know he did kinda get them a super bowl championship once upon a time.

Falcons resigned S Thomas DeCoud. This better be a cheap deal (it probably isn't). DeCoud is average at best, and most of the time quite sucky. Awesome start to the off season.

Meh. The safety position is so bad overall in the NFL right now that someone who appears sucky actually translates to probably being "average."

Will be incredibly pissed if the Eagles sign Dan Connor and the Giants show little to no interest. Then again, if Kuechly gets past #15... Hmmmmm.. (Fingers crossed)

The Giants have no cap space. They aren't going to be players. They'd be extremely lucky to land Connor.

Maybe. Just so many bad angles/missed tackles from DeCoud though. So many.

With the exception of extreme homer fanbases (Packers), people say that about at least one of their team's starting safeties.

DeCoud is an average safety. The fact that an average safety can look that bad is just further evidence of how weak the position is right now.

packers safeties were horrible last year. the amount of big plays and missed tackles were embarrassing.
