D End is the one missing piece the Bills have on defence. With Williams and an OLB from the draft the bills have one of the best defenses in the NFL.

When you play against Tom Brady, you need a sick dline. The Giants proved that.
Mario is going to be expensive, but that dline will be scary good with him. Even with Mario, if I'm the Bills, I still draft another DE. Screw it. Get after Brady with everything you got.

Yes. Yes you did. You can get Morgan like production for 400k with a mid round draft pick.
Why is this a difficult concept to understand? 99% of FAs get overpaid. Especially mediocre ones.

He's not one of the best. He's one of the most physically talented.
Haynesworth was also in his prime, was injury prone, and only had two years of dominant production too. All of which has nothing to do with why I think Mario Williams is overrated and isn't deserving of being made the #1 paid defensive player in the NFL.
Nevertheless, if the Titans somehow land him, I'm rubbing it in everyone's face! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The contract could be organized with bonuses and a an option year where it would be totally doable. Titans are going to have to spend the regulation amount in future years and might as well tie it up in a player of his caliber because they won't hit the market in future years.
Take into account the cap is projected to increase every year, its doable.

I still think that is way too much for a guy almost making Peyton Manning kind of money. And Williams is coming off of an injury too. Granted, it's a pectoral injury so that isn't that bad, but still that is so much money. I look at what the 49ers signed Justin Smith for (6 years $45 million) and I'm really shocked that it's more than double. I know the cap has increased, but for a defensive end that is so much. Is Williams even really good at stopping the run?

With the emphasis on passing and the restrictions of what DB's can do physically with the receivers, pass rushers are becoming more and more important. Mario is going to cash in, and any other pass rushers that hit the open market in the next few years will do the same.

That's assuming your OLB would actually be any good to be begin with.
How many All Pros or just even Pro Bowlers did the Bills have on defense last season?
Give me a break. The Bills have a terrible defense and one DE isn't going to change that. They need a lot more pieces.

no team in the nfl bats .1000 in the draft. you hit on half your picks your doing well. you can't rebuild 100% through the draft. the skins do have 12 picks between last year and this year and which will go a long way. a lot of last years guys are contributing or will but filling depth and building competition with deals like the one for morgan only helps. young players with upside who will replace old vets on the wrong side of their career like moss/gaffney...what a terrible idea...

Justin Smith never had a double digit sack year, was projected (and plays) 3-4 DE not to mention that was in 2008! Smith is a horrible comparison, the only one that has hit free agency in recent years that compares is Peppers. And yes, Williams is good at stopping the run.

What is the big deal here? The Redskins always overpay for free agents. This year is no different.

Yes you can. Ask the Packers and Steelers. You know, the 2 teams that are really good all the time that have brought in a grand total of roughly 3 FAs btw them over the past 10 years.

If I want a mediocre #3 WR, I can get that in the 3rd round of the draft and get the same production for 400k a year.

Who cares? Justin Smith still dominates the line of scrimmage and was arguably the NFL Defensive Player of the Year. It's not just about sacks. There are some players that are/were good at pass rushing, but are terrible at defending the run (Jevon Kearse). And yes it was in 2008. Four years ago. It wasn't eons ago. Smith is also capable of playing in a 4-3 as he did in Cincinnati.

The deal between the Skins and Morgan is official, so that's Morgan and Garcon, with Eddie Royal potentially signing something soon too.
You can't say that the Skins didn't make it a point to surround RG3 with WRs.

Isn't the Josh Morgan contract a 2 year, 7.5 million dollars guaranteed with options after that?

You know what I'm really pumped for? The inevitable Harry Douglas resigning. Why get better?
We'll hear about how we had the players, now it's a new system. (Don't get me wrong, it was a major issues, but these players are so easily replaceable.) Then after we lose in the playoffs next year again it will be "now we know the system and are ready to win!". Ugh.

It'd make a lot of sense to draft Courtney Upshaw to pair with Mario Williams. That push rush would be ridiculous
