Better than playing him out of position.
In addition, Gailey has said he'd play DE FWIW

i look for the dolphins to make a big splash in free agency, the cowboys to lasso in a few more big names, the seahawks to swoop down and snag a few more guys, the ravens to give in to the cravings of splurging on a big name, the lions to stop lyin about not going after many free agents, the vikings to set sail in a vast sea of free agent potential, the broncos to be the head honchos of the free agent class, the bears to get some grizzled veterans, the browns to sign a few guys who are renowned and well-endowed, the steelers to get some guys who will turn their opponents into squealers, the bengals to take a bite out of the free agent market, the redskins to get some guys that are elite with the pigskin, and the buccaneers to get jeers for signing a few queers.

With the OL going from great to average and minus Mario, I think Houston missed the playoffs next year. Tennessee takes the South with or without Peyton.

The Giants are proving you can never have to much invested in the D line.

Saints must be confident in the cap number because they aren't slowing down.

The game is won and lost in the trenches. Better tie up money there than secondary.

Yea right. If the Titans don't get Peyton, what draft pick are they going to land that is going to make them a division winner? That's with Hassalbeck or Locker starting. Houston is arguably a better team then them with Yates at QB, let alone Schaub.
Houston may be losing Winston, but the Titans struggled run blocking all last year, we would have to assume Houston would drop off but I don't see that likely in a 1 cut ZBS with Foster and Tate. They didn't skip a beat without Mario.
Saying they will miss the playoffs all together after a 5th rd rookie QB almost got them into the AFC championship game is a big overreaction to me.
Sure if Peyton goes, anything can happen certainly. But as it stands, Hass isn't good enough, Locker is going to have some growing pains, and Houston just kept on ticking last year no matter who went down.

Is there like, actual interest from the team or is this just something you're hoping for?

Matt Maiocco @MaioccoCSN
WR Mario Manningham (Giants) is in the building, meeting with 49ers coaches and team officials.

That would be nice for SF. Manningham, Moss and Crabtree.

Browns sign Juqua Parker. Maybe he and Rucker can combine to not suck too much at end.

I haven't heard a single thing about Bell all week. Of course, the entire city has been focused on one guy the whole time.

|
I've been hoping we sign Bell just to make this an easier decision. A legit #1/2 receiver would be great for this offense, but we have little to rely on at tackle. That's something that doesn't even entirely change if Bell returns, so tackle is still a top option.

I think the official statement is "we'll see what we can do with him". He's been as chipper as anybody, though. I like having him around, and he actually was our best OLB by a good amount for the 5 games he was healthy this year.
As for what he does on the field? I'm sure you'll allow me to mostly overlook that. Give him a chance to get into the backfield, but we certainly can't rely on it.

I thought Rucker was supposed to be pretty decent at DE during the last half of the season...?
