Nelson is good at playing single high, but he can't tackle, isn't the best blitzed, and gets lost in man coverage.
Nelson needs to play in a defense that allows him to play center field the majority of the game. I'm not sure if he fits their style.

He's a softer version of Brandon Meriweather.

Winston's contract will set the bar for Branden Albert's extension next year. He's got to be happy about that.

It sounds like he's developed a little since his days at Jacksonville though. I admit, he was abysmal at Jacksonville, and I was disappointed bc I was so high on him, but it sounds like Zimmer has developed him into a decent player.
Merriweather is absymal.

I really don't know how Meriweather still gets contract offers.

Being a 1st round pick gets you a lot of 2nd chances. Some coach out there thinks they can get the potential out of him.

Wright was targeted more times this season than any cornerback aside from Jabari Greer and ranked 104th out of 109 cornerbacks in 2011 despite playing behind Detroit's intimidating defensive line. His stock also took a hit during the pre-draft process when he was found in possession of a considerable amount of ecstasy; Buccaneers fans will need some to be pleased with this deal.

Mario Manningham will more than likely sign with St. Louis by tonight or tomorrow. It's a decent signing, I just hope they don't overpay for him which they probably will cuz the team desperately needs a Receiver.

Not really a mystery since they're going to trade Tom Brady for a decade of first round picks right after the signing and this has been discussed many times.

Why doesnt that happen?
They could trade Brady for about 5 first round picks, get Manning and have the same amount of cap space.
This would be awesome!

Why even bother signing Manning when you have Mallet on the bench to throw bombs to Gonzalez, Welker, and Edelman.... CHAMPIONSHIP

Absolutely. And to be able to replace the open-space-challenged Wimbley with a rangy guy like Lawson would be very nice.
Hey, if Allen can make Wesley Woodyard and Joe Mays look like competent LBs, I would feel pretty good about Curry-McClain-Lawson.
And to add fireplug Bunkley to the middle of the line would make the Raiders that much more stout on the line--especially if Seymour deals with knee injuries throughout the season again.

Dang, I had high hopes for Scott after 12 sacks in limited action his first 2 seasons. Of course he was promptly moved to LB in 2010 and then he blew his knee out and hasn't been the same.

Why is no one using the massive upfront deal to get Mike Wallace? Are the Patriots falling asleep again?

this also means no more Barry Richardson...which makes it an even greater signing

So very true, though I'd take Richardson as a sort of swing tackle type guy.
