This. Carolinas defense wasnt as bad as their stats said last year, the problem was constantly being on the field because the offense couldnt do anything. Carolina does need to get to signing players who werent on their team last year that will actually contribute. They wont be a playoff contender this year and maybe not even next year but they wont be as bad as people think.

Carolina will go 1-5 within their division this season.
Who will that one win be over fellas?

They play New Orleans in week 17. New Orleans will have locked up whatever playoff spot they are getting and will rest their starters, allowing Carolina to barely beat their 3rd stringers.

I can see Carolina going 6-10 this year. Maybe 7-9 if they catch lightning in a bottle.
They have talent. They have a promising set of DEs, they have good LBs, they have a decent secondary, and they have a very good oline and RB duo.
I think Atlanta is going to fall off this year. The division is btw NO and Tampa.

Looking at their schedule, I can see maybe 5-6 wins. Let's say they get one in the Division somewhere. Their winnable games are @Arizona, Jacksonville, Washington, Minnesota, and Tennessee. To get to six, they'd have to sweep those games. Doubtful. So to get there, they either have to wins more game in division, or knock off Green Bay, Chicago Detroit, houston or Indianapolis.
I don't see that happening. If Clausen starts, 4-12. If Cam Starts, 3-13.

Carolina has no ******* QB. I repeat that Jimmy Clausen was AWFUL last year and Newton is raw as can possibly be. I stand by my prediction of a 4 maximum.

McNabb will bring the Vikes back to a playoff contender.

McNabb will be playing with a chip on his shoulder so I think he'll have a good season. I'm not sure about playoffs, though.

I can see McNabb making the vikes competitive again. I still don't get the hate for him around these boards.

@ClaytonESPN: For those who are counting, the Panthers put up $141 million in deals for J Anderson, C.Johnson and D. Williams

There are things I like to call upsets that happen. I think they beat the Falcons once, and either the Bucs or Saints once. The great thing about the NFL is any game is winnable. Any given Sunday, homeboy.
Just looked at the schedule, and why aren't the Bears, Texans, and Lions winnable games? VY led the Titans to 8 wins his rookie year with a similar skill set, I don't see why Newton is automatically 3 wins.

McNabb is already pouting about how the Vikings first tried to pursue Tyler Thigpen and now want him to take a pay cut to be a placeholder for a rookie instead of rolling out the red carpet and anointing him the savior of the franchise. The dude is washed up. He had Jim Johnson's defense carrying him early in his career while everyone wanted to put him in the Brady/Manning category and it inflated his ego to unreasonable levels for a guy who struggles with mid-range accuracy and had choked in every big situation he's been in.

Our o-line and secondary are too bad for us to make the playoffs, but no way will we be worse than last year. There is just too much talent. McNabb, AP, Harvin, Rice (crosses fingers), and our great front 7 will be good for at least 7 wins.

I don't either. McNabb is not an Elite QB or anything but he's not that bad.

I don't see this happening, especially since the Vikes are the worst team in the division.

Has Clements's play dropped off that much, or is he just not worth his contract?
Because now that he's been cut, he's not going to count against teams' compensatory picks. Should make him desirable.

They'll be neck and neck with the Lions for last place. Every year ppl say "This will be the year the Lions make the playoffs" or "This is the year they turn it around, all the pieces are there" I'll believe it when I see it.

The Vikings are old and washed up. It's major rebuilding time.

I guarantee that the Lions finish better than the Vikings this year.
