Sorry for having hope. Grubbs and Johnson are losses, but this team is not significantly worse from last season. I agree we haven't gotten better but we don't have cap space to make big moves and changes. The window is not completely shut. Why have you gone fully ERU lately?

JJ was unheralded and consistent as a run stopper. He set the edge with the best in the league, but he was nonexistent as a pass rusher. I just can't put a OLB in the top tier when they bring nothing in the passing game.

Did the Kyle Boller era get retconned at some point?

Because we've had a really ****** offseason and I refuse to be content with us losing starters left, right and center while we retain old, useless pieces of **** like McKinnie and Birk. I didn't even count the loss of Corey Redding, which will hurt. I love Pernell McPhee, but I'm not convinced he's ready to be a full time player and Art Jones is still all potential as well.

Any Ravens fan who is happy with the way this offseason has went is crazy. We just picked up a 500K option on Bryant McKinnie. Put that into perspective. This guy wasn't good enough to stick on the Vikings offensive line, and they're talking about bringing in 3-4 new starters this year. Retaining that worthless piece of dog **** for $4 million and letting Grubbs walk was one of the worst managerial decisions this franchise has made in years.

It's frustrating to have a Top 3 defense and run game every year only to be undone by Flacco throwing gimme picks to Brandon Spikes or Cameron calling stupid ******* draw plays on 3rd and 1. Now we're going to have an ancient offensive line to go with it. Dark days are coming for the Ravens once Ray and Reed are gone. It's upsetting that they've wasted the end of their careers dealing with **** like that. Both guys deserved better.

No one is happy with this offseason. I don't want to keep Cameron. I don't want to lose Grubbs, Redding, & JJ. I wish we could toss McKinney and have some solution to fill in the LT spot.

But that's not how it is. We can't afford to keep Grubbs long term. We could maybe find a way to fit him in barely but then we are right up against the cap and have too much money wrapped up in our guards in the long term. We need new contracts for Flacco & Rice who are way way more valuable.

I'm not happy with the offseason so far, but I'm not ready to just give up on the entire season because we lost a guard.

I'm surprised Mike Pollak is still available. He can play either guard spot or center and has improved every year he's been in the league. Certainly not a great player or a road grader but he would be an ideal swing reserve or spot starter.

That'd be a nice signing; versatility to play either RG or RT and I remember him being pretty good in 2010. Not sure how serious his injury was though.

His brother is going to be better than him. Has more versatility too. If you miss out on him maybe the Bengals will get Mitchell in rd 2/3

Sounds like someone the Ravens could use as a backup at that LG & C spot. I'm not sure that Birk will last all season.

He's due to break his hip any day now. Dude is like 36. I bet we're paying him upwards of $3 mill a season too. Ugh. Haven't gotten contract details yet though, one can only hope.

The Ravens haven't really done anything but gotten older this offseason. They need a good draft this year - especially defense/o-line.

Yeah with Adam Snyder to the Tards, and Chilo Rachal a free agent, all we have is 2nd year player Daniel Kilgore @ RG.

I think we sign Schwartz, him being a California boy, i think gives the Niners the advantage.

He's also had previous visits with other teams.

Agreed, but the problem with the approach we've taken is that we've gotten older without identifying any potential replacements for the veterans. We've ignored FA and as such, we're left with a ton of needs that we simply don't have enough draft picks to fix. Shoring up this team is going to be too difficult. Ostensibly, we need help at LT, LG, C, WR, DE, OLB, ILB, CB, FS and SS either this season or next season. That's a hell of a lot of needs to fix just in the draft while still trying to make a SB run for guys like Ray and Ed. If we had actually done something other then **** the bed entirely in FA, we might have had a shot to find heirs for guys like Lewis, Reed, McKinnie, Birk, Boldin, Pollard, etc. Those are all starters who are over 30 (most between 33-35, actually) who we have no verifiable replacements for, considering we just lost both our future safety starters and our depth across the board is pretty much ****.

I'm glad the Ravens fourth round pick this year Lee Evans worked out so well for them. Great start to the draft already

If he just held onto ONE PASS....just that ONE PASS....it would be seen as the greatest use of a 4th round pick since Randy Moss.

He's too busy bitching about his ankle to catch passes. Either that, or Sterling Moore's overwhelming athleticism was just too much for Evans to handle.

He's also had previous visits with other teams.
Has Rachel been horrible? I remember wanting him that year in the draft and his name has always intrigued me.

I actually like Erik Walden a lot as a situational rusher.
He brings great energy to the defense
and he's also got a wide variety of finesse moves he uses.
He's a huge liability against the run, but his effort and athleticism make up for it.
Team him up with Melvin Ingram and Sergio Kindle, and we may have found a solution to our problems.

Tulloch re-ups for 5 years. Depending on the money, good deal. I think this will be the start of the LB market.
