Didn't the Chiefs use a first round pick on a QB from Clemson many years ago? The name Steve Fuller seems to ring a bell.
At any rate I am assuming that he was taken before the Blackledge fiasco so I guess the question is moot somewhat....

Oh, what's that? This just in, Gary Gibbs is taking over as DC so Romeo can "spend more time with the whole team".. I wish I was making this stuff up but it just isn't possible.
Someone kill me now.

Ha. And I remember Chiefs fans being so optimistic while the rest of the forum told them how bad Routt was. Sorry :(

In the 1979 draft. Blackledge was 83. He was one of the...lesser...three QBs taken in the first round that year.

When exactly did Talib become something else than a cover corner?

Thought you meant '79. Be more clear goddammit, your sentence was dysfunctional.

Steve Fuller was a 1st round pick in the 79 draft. Blackledge was a first round pick in the 83 draft where 6 QBs went. 3 became HoFers, one was passable, two were busts. Blackledge was one of the busts.

I know this BB, I thought you were talking about Fuller being one of the 3 ****** QBs in the first round of the 1979 draft. It was just confusing sentence structure.

Thanx BB for clearing that all up. The 3 Hofers were Elway, Kelly and Marino. That leaves Ken O'Brien, Tony Eason and Todd Blackledge. Since we can all agree that Blackledge is one of the busts who is the other one?
Sure Eason led his team to the execution by the Bears in the Super Bowl, but his team was more of a running team and imo probably got to the SB in spite of him.
OTOH Except some of his games against Miami Mr. O'Brien was nothing to write home about either.
My question is which one of these was the other bust?

I was always under the impression that O'Brien was the passable one since he hung around for 10 seasons and made a few pro bowls.
But in comparison to the three HoFers that came out of that class, none of the other three are worth much historically.

McGee was just put on IR (who had Week 9 in the pool?) and Aaron Williams is supposed to be out ~3 weeks with a knee injury. Have to wonder if we're going after Routt, who we hosted in the offseason.

He is better than Brandon McDonald? I assume he is probably really good in practice or something.

Stanford Routt clears waivers
Drawing interest from the Dolphins, Cardinals, and Lions.

people in the us a) don't know what a queue is and b) are physically incapable of forming an orderly one.

I find that hard to believe. The guy can't even make the active roster on a secondary devoid of any meaningful depth.
McDonald was at least on the field from time to time.

Bears bringing back Josh McCown. It's a precautionary move, but it does make me wonder how severe Jay's concussion really is.

Per Jay Glazer: Falcons are making a surprise move and releasing DE Ray Edwards, a big free agent pickup couple of years ago
Wouldn't mind the Saints taking a look at him. They need all the pass rushers they can get.

He has just 3.5 sacks in 25 games since he stopped playing opposite Jared Allen. That makes it difficult to consider him a pass rusher.

I know they didn't pay him big money, but still. Terrible investment.

Was there anyone that disagreed? It was rather obvious all along. I don't think even Falcons fans liked the signing.
