Not a big surprise. They're gonna manage their money so they can keep the core intact for the future and they have a whole bunch of draft picks to improve the team anyways.

Steep price for a guy that is going to demand a monster contract if he produces in 2013. We'll see if it turns out to be worth it.

They're likely to complete an extension within the next 24 hours.

The trade is contingent on signing a contract extension. So if he is super unreasonable Seattle can walk away.

Seattle really likes that Minnesota offense from the Childress era. Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, they had Tarvaris Jackson for a bit, Darrell Bevell.
Just an observation.

Bennett is one of those guys where you don't know what you've got until it's gone. You guys are going to miss that incredible run defense and pretty good pass rushing.
Combined 2012 QB pressures, sacks, hits, and hurries
Dumervil: 60
Bennett: 72
Give Bennett Denver's secondary and he'd get a few coverage sacks added onto his total.
Bennett > Dumervil, at least last season. Since becoming a full time player, Bennett has been truly legit in a sneaky, under-the-radar way.
|
Something to remember about Bennett, 7 of his 9 sacks came against Dallas/Philly/Oakland/Carolina. Pretty bad Olines. He's a decent player, but not at the price that he is going to command.

Steelers re-signed Ramon Foster to a 3 year deal. Sucks. One decent guard off the market.

A crazy percentage of Dumervil's total disruptions came in hs two games against San Diego. This kind of thing is true of just about everyone other than JJ Watt and Von Miller.

Foster is ok, hes a decent backup RG/RT with starting experience...definitely better holding on to him rather than guys like stapleton and essex that were here way to long. I wish they would get rid of Legursky now.

I guess that i am content with the Percy trade. The dude is an awesome player, but he is such a headache to deal with off the field. He would have been a bigger ***** if he would have gotten a big contract here. It kind of sucks that he couldn't have worked out here, but this had to happen.
I am happy with having 2 1st round picks this year.

If they traded Harvin because he doesn't like the Ponder (one of the reported issues), there is no ******* way that the Vikings would use that compensation to draft a different QB. No ******* way.
Even my beloved Vikings aren't that stupid..... are they?

I prefer to think of this move as the first step in their grand "Tanking for Teddy" plan

Yeah Harvin is a dynamic player, but has migraine issues. Cruz hasn't been hurt, knock on wood, so far. He can play all 3 WR spots. Good locker room guy, and is productive.
I'd like to keep him but if not, a first round would help our team out. I am sure Mara and Reese have a specific price on him. If Cruz wants more, then we won't pay.

Does Harvin actually have migraines anymore? I thought he was diagnosed with sleep apnea and now that he uses the cpap machine he doesn't get them.

I thought that the Viking fans on here said hes been fine with the migraines as well. Either way if I were the Vikings I'd rather take a shot at Wallace, Jennings (although he said no) before giving up the picks and money for Cruz. Idk seems like the hopes of Giants fans more than anything concrete or realistic.

Anyone else realize the Packers have not yet tendered Sam Shields? Not sure why they havent but I'd love to replace DHall with Shields.

I'm not sure when the deadline is, but Ted Thompson and the Packers usually wait until the last minute to make/announce their decisions so it's not a surprise. They're going to give him at least 2nd round tender.
