Well, since your boy Blaine Gabbert is so good because he's a 1st round pick, they don't need to pursue anything right?

I guess not. Have yet to hear of the Jaguars being interested in any free agent quarterback. Lots of other teams mentioned with regard to Smith, Mallett, Daniels, Garrard, Cassel, Fitzpatrick, etc. etc. NOT ONE mention of Jacksonville. So there you go. Someone brought up Tebow awhile back and Dave Caldwell said they wouldn't pick him up for free.

I don't think the asking price for Fitzpatrick will be very high after this past season. He's a free agent now and his contract was terminated so he can be signed to whatever deal. I think a modest offer would get the job done and looking at who is left, he's probably the best option. I'm not sure if it will work out for Gabbert. I'm leaning towards no. At the same time I don't think there is anyone worth drafting at quarterback early, and the Jaguars aren't going to have two high priced, young quarterbacks on the roster. Fitzpatrick would at least give them a chance to be competitive in games. It would be a good signing.

Is he decent R4L, NIP? Or anyone that has seen enough of him? I was really drunk when the browns played the raiders last year.

Gabbert isn't a "high priced" young quarterback. He doesn't even earn as much as Henne on the team. The days of top draft picks getting huge entry contracts are gone. Even Newton and Luck, the top overall picks the past couple of years only average around $5.5 million per season. Gabbert is at $3 million. The league average for starting quarterbacks is close to $15 million per season I think.

He's pretty damned solid at getting pressure in a 4-3. Dunno with that switch to 3-4.

What I hate about this is him getting 7 mil per year means Melton's gonna get 8.

Still, then you have a 2011 and 2013 1st round QBs on your roster?

Honestly, no QB should go in the top 10-15 picks in this draft.

I do agree with you on one thing: Jacksonville made a good call on Caldwell and getting Bradely. But there is a ton of work to do.

However, they should definately look into someone like Mallett. Although you think he's been nothing more than a career back up and apparently Gabbert is better. Heck Gabbert is so good, he gets flustered by no pressure.

The only team who hasn't signed, re-signed, cut, or lost someone today is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

That might be changing shortly.

Some of the local Tampa media are reporting that the Bucs have an agreement in principal with Dashon Goldson, though they've frequently been incorrect in the past, so I guess we'll see.

Steven Holder (Tampa Bay Times) also seems to think that the Bucs have dropped out of talks for Revis with the Jets.

With the 29th pick I always thought there would be a small possibility Belichick sticks it to us.

I think Cruz would be perfect in NE or Minny. Late 1st for a 26 WR with over 2,500 yards and 19 Td's the last two seasons is not bad.

Let's remember, as of 5:30, the Bucs were sending a private plane to pick Goldson up. Gonna take some time for him to get there, but according to Schefter, who is the most reliable guy, it doesn't seem like Goldson is leaving Tampa without a contract.
