I like Kolb better than any of the QBs already signed. I'd think Reid would rather have him in KC than Chase Daniel.

Because its a buyers market this year. You can add quality talent without a huge commitment. I'm not one to say Ted Thompson needs to do anything different, but he seems like a stubborn old man with free agency.

Stafford is worth every penny. He has the arm of St.Peter.
I have this thing for Stafford. I don't know what the hell is wrong with me.

The bet teams often use FA. They build through the draft and supplement with FA. Success is rarely achieved with just one or the other.

In other news, Bucs sign TE Tom Crabtree.
And we all die a little inside.

St. Peter's been dead for 1946 years. I bet he doesn't have much of an arm at all.

The real questions is....Is he more dead than Michael Turner's legs?

Greg Jennings + 1st, 3rd, 7th > Harvin
?
I think so, Jennings isn't the same player as Harvin but that looks pretty good for Minnesota.

No doubt about it, Minnesota came out very nicely on the trade and now got a big catch in FA with Jennings.
You combine this with an improving young QB, and a RB that has legs made out of terminator metal, and it is looking pretty nice for the vikings.
Their defense still has some questions, and losing Winfield will hurt.

Jennings straight up is an upgrade over Harvin. I don't understand why Jennings gets no respect around here. He's definitely benefited from top QB play, but from 2007 to 2011 he was one of the best and most consistent WRs in the league.

That's why it's so hard to understand trades for a 1st round pick. You give up so much, AND pay him. They could have signed nearly any WR in FA for what they gave Percy, and they gave up a 1st on top of that.
Seattle's really going all-in, they've got a 3-4 year window with the current players in place but could extend that with the right moves as long as Wilson and Carrol are there.

Restricted free agent Emmanuel Sanders has signed an offer sheet with the Patriots.
The terms are not yet known, but the Steelers now have five days to match or let Sanders walk. Although "poison pill" offer sheets were outlawed in the new CBA, the Patriots have an abundance of 2013 cap room while the Steelers have next to none. It's quite possible the Pats have structured their offer in a way that would be difficult or impossible for the Steelers to match. If that's the case, Pittsburgh would receive New England's third-round pick as compensation since Sanders was tendered at the original-round level. It's an aggressive move by a Patriots team clearly intent on remaking its receiver corps, and an ominous development for a Pittsburgh club that's been shedding talent. Were Sanders to end up in New England, it would almost certainly signal an end to Brandon Lloyd's time with the team.

Steeler fans can not be happy with this one.
The whole point of being ok with Wallace leaving (on top of limited cap) was that they had Antonio Brown and Sanders still together as a solid duo.
Steelers really need to figure this one out, and I sure as hell don't want the Pats to get Sanders. He is a solid young player.

If he leaves, our receiving corps consists of Antonio Brown, Jerricho Cotchery, and Plaxico Burress. Heath Miller is rehabbing a late-season ACL tear, which means our #1 TE will be either a seventh rounder from last year or recently resigned "blocking specialist" Matt Spaeth. Unless we get some stud rookies, our receiving group has the potential of being one of the absolute worst in the league. Talk about a 180 degree change from one year to another, last year it was arguably our strongest group of players for the future and now they might all be gone.

I think with how the GM was talking, the Steelers are looking about a complete overhaul and aren't particularly expecting to be good next year. I think they'll be fine with the loss of Sanders. They've found a lot of good receivers at non-premium picks. They'll recover.

Offensively, things could be ugly. Running game is mediocre and now our receiving group might be shot to ****. This was supposed to be a defensive reload draft but now we've got more offensive holes to fill. Maybe even more than defensive. The losses of Harrison and Lewis suck, but at least there are some legitimate young candidates that can prove themselves in Jason Worilds and Cortez Allen. At RB, TE, and WR, we don't really have anyone.
I hate March massacres, and I hate keeping over-the-hill, storied vets over younger talent. They did the right thing with Foster > Colon, but letting Lewis go was a mistake, IMO. I'd have rather resigned him than Foote and Willie Gai, maybe release Keisel too. Foote is old and Gai is a nickel, nothing more. Keisel just isn't the same, and we've got Cameron Heyward waiting behind him for a shot as a starter. Lewis and Allen could've given us a nice duo for the next 4, 5 years, but that ain't happening now. Ike Taylor probably has two good years left before he's gone too, Ryan Clark and Troy in the same boat.

This is seriously the most depressing news of the offseason for me. 2nd was the Packers having AJ Hawk take a paycut rather than just outright cutting him

Packers fans seem pretty sad to lose him. What's the deal with Crabtree?

This. Jennings style will fit perfectly with Christian Ponder too because his best route is the slant and he's a receiver whose strength is YAC.

Schefter tweeted that the Patriots have not offered Sanders a contract yet. I think it all hinges on Brandon Lloyd and is a leverage thing. If he doesn't agree to restructure, he gets released and sanders is signed. If he does, then Sanders is a Steeler. As much as it would hurt the WR depth, getting a third rounder for him is something I'd take. WRs of his caliber are dime dozen. The team also has big holes elsewhere and the extra pick will be greatly benefited.
