Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
"For Jake Long and the #Rams, it's a four-year deal that can be worth up to $36 million. And the tackle market is set."

They might need someone to throw the ball too.

Yeah, think I'll pass on him with that kind of money. Top 10 LT no doubt. Love the guys attitude, work ethic and leadership, but not at that kind of money.
But anyway, congrats Rams. You beat us out once again. Dolphins are your ***** in the offseason.

They lost their best running back, their best receiver, and are upgrading their line by moving Saffold over when he outplayed Long last year. They're getting worse.

They aren't moving saffold over. Jake Long is playing right tackle. Long is a good left tackle but can be great on the right side, saffold is good when healthy at LT but would get embarrassed on the right side.

It would be funny if the Cards won the division.

Is that your opinion or what they have said?
Rams need skill positions on offense in the draft big time.

Oh my opinion. But it makes the most sense. We'll see soon enough, probably tomorrow.

At that amount of money, I don't think it makes much sense at all.

For this year it does. Saffold is a free agent after the season and likely to sign else where.

I would have just drafted Fluker in the first. They can use that pick on another position now though.

Paying a RT that much is dumb. Andre Smith might be the best RT in the NFL and will be pissed to see the Bengals give him that much money.

Like i said though, its just for next year. Cuz in 2014 Saffold will be gone...and you can move Long to LT.

If Miami was offering money close to that he wouldn't go to St. Louis to play RT, even if only for a year. I would be shocked if he played RT. Long would be a monster there though.

There is no way Jake signed on to play RT. Just no way I can see that possible...

I can't imagine that happening either, especially considering that the average annual value of his deal is $8.5 million, which is the type of money you'd pay to a left tackle. Saffold will probably get shifted over to right tackle, or possibly demand a trade, which has been rumored recently. If he gets moved (or possibly even if he doesn't), I could see St. Louis targeting someone like D.J. Fluker in the draft to groom for that starting spot on the right.

Hahahahhaha. Says who? You? Oh ok good, at least we know this is concrete info. LOL @ you thinking Jake Long would sign anywhere to play LT or that Saffold was somehow good enough to make Jake Long move seeing as how a few months ago people were talking about kicking him inside.
