I'm thinking Woodley to the Titans. They are installing that Pittsburgh style defense and have a big need for a pass rushing OLB. Trade Morgan, cut Wimbley sign Woodley and draft Barr and you have transformed that D nicely. They'll probably have to move on from Mike Martin and Zach Brown too.

Good test guy, ran well, plays very well in space...but has no feel for pass rushing. Everyone expected him to be some menace off the edge when in reality he wasn't good enough at it in college for them to use him that way. They dropped him back into coverage more than 60% of the snaps.

For him to be asked to be a 3-4 pass rusher is comical, let alone a 4-3 end. He should be playing 4-3 SAM and covering linebackers.

Santonio Holmes cut. Wonder Who takes him?

I mean, you do it because he was going to be on the cap for like $11 million or something.

The Pats are at a pretty rough spot at receiver, but with that being said, no dice on Holmes. That guy is a colossal cancer, and his skills aren't really even that good anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a guy who's career is unceremoniously over come September.

I loved holmes and missed him dearly...he was not that type of problem child when he was here.

Holmes, Brown and Wallace would have been lethal....but i highly doubt they consider bringing him back, they traded him for a 5th rounder for christ sake

Doubt it. They traded him in his prime for a 5th round draft pick. Why would they want him back now?

It's rare that any non QB can be called clutch but Holmes was a clutch player. He always would make big plays when they mattered the most when I watched him.

I'd sign Holmes. He's going to be cheap and has enough left to still start as long as he could stay on the field.

Makes a lot of sense for Detroit.

I'd even offer an incentive-laden deal to McFadden. Browns or Jags make sense.

Because he's likely going to be relatively inexpensive, the Steelers have a bunch of free agent wide receivers and because they have a history of bringing players who succeeded with them but failed elsewhere back for a second try.

Holmes actually screams Patriots gamble, to me. Fits the biggest need as a downfield threat with excellent red zone savvy. Assuming he's not washed up, it's just the type of prove-it contract NE would target. He is an idiot, but he'd have a short leash and far less to complain about with Brady at QB.

Jaguars DE Jason Babin has voided the final two years of his contract, and is now a free agent and likely to sign elsewhere. Music has its one hit wonders, and Babin was a one season wonder with the Eagles a few years ago.

Bennett back to Seattle...used the Bears to drive up the price? Hope we get in on Michael Johnson now. Maybe the fact that his pressures didn't turn into sacks last year will unfairly drive his price down.

Lamaar Houston would be nice, too. Or even cheapo options like Robert Ayers or Jeremy Mincey. I'd love Justin Tuck if it's a contract we can get out of in two years.

Basically, any decent DE (or two) is what I'm saying...we have nothing.

His last year in Tennessee is what got him his money, and then had one very good year in Philly before coming back down to earth when we scrapped the wide 9.

Bennett will make $28.5 million over four years. He gets $10 million in 2014, $16 million through the first two years, and $21 million over three.

Of the total, $16 million is guaranteed. It’s unclear how much is fully guaranteed beyond the first year.

It’s an average of $7.125 million per year, less than the $8.5 million average the Vikings paid to defensive end Everson Griffen on a five-year deal. Griffen has one career start, and 17.5 career sacks, all in the last three seasons. Bennett has 23.5 sacks over the last three years.
It's easy to call this a steal but he'll be 30 this season and only played 60% of snaps.

But damn. Hsu was right - I questioned his projection of 3/21. 4/28.5 is pretty much the same thing annually. I wonder what the cap hit for this year is...

10 mil next year, 6 guaranteed the year after, then the last two years is worth 12.5 non-guaranteed.

Sounds like a good deal for both sides.

More needed on that O-line for sure.

Gholston was like a body builder. Freakishly strong, but horribly stiff. Hes the anti jordan
He's more like Manny Lawson as an athlete, but I think the Gholston comment was about bustability. Lawson is still starting in the NFL 8 seasons after being drafted. That's VERY different than Gholston.

It's easy to call this a steal but [Michael Bennett will] be be 30 this season and only played 60% of snaps.
Isn't he really a nickel DT and a backup DE if Chris Clemons gets hurt?
