Ronnie Brown is a Lion
Reportedly acquired for a 2013 7th rounder and Jerome Harrison.
Umm .... I'll take it, but this can only mean bad things about Javhid's health.

Just don't let him throw passes off of handoffs.

There will be no wildcat or halfback passed in the Lions offense, haha

I thought Jerome Harrison was going to eventually play and play well for you guys.
In that offense, I think a good RB should look great.
And an average one look good.
Leshoure was better than good.

I wasn't expecting this, but I'll take it. Since Best suffered his third concussion in two years, I'm not sure how much longer he will have an NFL career assuming he wants to keep his long term health. Not too mention we have no idea how good LeShoure will be able to come back from his injury. We still need better o-lineman to even begin to have a consistent running game, so hopefully that need is filled in the 2012 draft. Maybe if Jahvid Best is forced to retire in the future then who knows, we might be able to get Barry Sanders Jr. when he comes out, assuming he is good in college of course.

Best's health is obviously an enormous concern, but I don't think the signing of Brown is much of a statement from the organization. They needed to bring someone in or they would just become Texas Tech.

Just our ******* luck we spend two top picks on running backs and neither one is ever healthy enough to be the longterm starter.

I wonder if they talked to the Browns about Hillis.

More likely to take a mid-round back and pray he breaks out.

I hope Brown has something left in the tank, if he does, this is a tremendous pickup for the Lions even if it is only for this season.
I was never sold on Best as an every down back.
This pickup could raise our offense up a notch and put a lot of pressure on defenses if they really have to respect the run.

Javhid Best is almost a better player used as a slot receiver. His speed makes him a mismatch because teams are not putting cornerbacks on him like they would any other player who lines up on the perimeter.

That's if the O-line can block better. The lack of running success wasn't because of best.

Just saw that, figures. Maybe we could sign Aaron Brown again if we need another running back. Unless Schwartz and Mayhew were looking for more of a powerback.

So apparently Jerome Harrison has a brain tumor...
Its funny that without the trade he probably doesn't get that physical and they don't find that tumor til later. I wish him the best in his recovery.

I bet you feel bad for saying that now lol. I really hope Jerome can make it through this, but thats pretty amazing that he was part of a trade that might have just saved his life.

Amazing..... I hope they can treat this and get him well.
We have a friend at church who's wife is dying right now because of a brain tumor. Nothing to do can stop it. Sad as hell.
