Default Zombie Survival Voting Scenario 1

Off Highway 77 in the Raymondville area of South Texas, lies an area seeded with small hills overlooking cattle ranches. Team Gunslinger will travel via horseback in a bounding over-watch travel pattern with a 100 -150 yard increment per bound. Two pairs of riders, each pair with a night-scoped AR-15 rifleman, will travel from hilltop to hilltop in the 30 minute trek to the nearby Wal-mart, which lies at the base of a hill in a nearby town. Each team member possess a PTT handset and will remain in constant communications with the rest of the team.

In sorte #1, Team GS will acquire:

as much ammo as can be carried for previously named team weapons

rope to set up a huge perimeter around our camp, with cans and other noisy utensils to alarm us for any kind of intrusion

canned food items

specialized first aid kits

water filters

batteries for a multitude of flashlights

Methodology:

Horses, while also quiet, will aid Team GS in detecting any zombie threat. These horses are fast enough to escape the zombie threat if detected at close range. The over-watch pattern and 100-150 yard increment pattern will allow the team to monitor and scout the travel route while not extending beyond the effective range of team weapons. The team will operate under a "move first, shoot only if they need to" concept. Once at the Wal-mart, pair one will operate as external/perimeter security while pair 2 will break into individuals - one operating as security and another as the work force. Upon extraction, goods will be divided into equal parts so as not to tax any one horse or lose a significant portion of goods if a member or pair is compromised.
---------------------END-------------------------

Operation Wally World: Team Falcon Punch of Maine, United States will orchestrate this raid using the utmost precision and discipline.

Part I: Getting There

The four of us will be riding mountain bikes armed with all our weapons and hiking backpacks to carry the supplies from Wal-Mart. The mountain bikes are the best of both worlds, giving you stealth but also enough speed to get away from zombies. We will all be equipped with short-range radios with earpieces because communication and coordination are of great importance. We will also bring a map with preplanned route, compass and flashlight (with small blanket to cover light) so we can navigate just in case we get lost and it is dark. Another thing that will be necessary is a first aid kit and night vision goggles.

Part II: Upon Arrival

Once we get to the location we will take a lap on our bikes around Wal-Mart to scout for broken windows, bullet holes, dead bodies and of course zombies. We will then park our bikes around back and then enter through the back.

Part III: Raid

We will then send in our secret device, made by our very own kalbears13: a radio controlled car with video camera. We will then have it drive through the Wal-Mart looking for any signs of zombies. If there are a few we will send them on a wild goose chase after the remote controlled car through the front doors and out into the parking lot where the RC car will be parked under a car. Sticking in pairs, promptly Jvig and APS will cautiously and quickly move to the front of the store where they will close the rolling doors. Simultaneously kalbears13 and Caddy will break into the security camera room and check the cameras for zombies inside and outside of the building (including the parking lot). From there they can cover the back door. Jvig and APS will then collect all the goods/ammo/food we need. At all times we will be quietly checking in via radio.

Part IV: Exit

As darkness descends in Maine we make our way back home. Using the map, compass, flashlights, night vision goggles and Jvig’s keen knowledge of the neighborhood we make our way back to base.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Zed Faced Killas are holed up in the wooded fortress in the hills of PA shortly after the zombie apocalypse commences, and the men realize they could use a few more supplies, so like all groups of people in a zombie apocalypse, they decide that a WalMart is the best place to find their necessary rations.

The men have an '08 GMC Sierra Diesel Pickup at their disposal, with most of the manufacturers performance upgrades. Borat and EATW have fitted numerous objects on the truck, thanks to designs by Broth. They have fitted a V plow on the front of the truck, and numerous sharp objects on the sides to evicerate zombies. EATW is standing in the empty bed of the truck, scanning the land, assuring there is no signs of movement within the entire area before they commit to entering the Walmart. Also in the bed of the truck is a 50 gallon drum of home heating oil, which is compatible fuel for diesel vehicles. With a 30 gallon tank, this group never has to worry about re-fueling, except when back at their fortress. The men arrive at approximately 10:00 am. Borat parks the truck on the side of the local Walmart Supercenter and the three men enter through the shopping cart entrance, making no sound, hearing no sounds, and each grab a shopping cart.

Before entering the walmart the group scouts out the place and then (when they enter the first time, as a group of three) they stick together and strategically clear out each aisle they enter.

The three men grab up each and every battery they find at the front of the store, and move on to the outdoors section, where they pick up a walkie talkie system for the three of them, picking up extras in case one should break. While in the outdoors section, the men grab more outdoors gear, hunting pants, shirts, and coats to keep warm and camoflauged. Fishing equipment and knives are also picked up, in case food situations become dire. The men then grab up one mountain bike, planning on getting two more after their final trip back in to the store. By now, these three shopping carts are full and the men decide to take them back to the truck. It has been 5 minutes since they left the parking lot and the only sound that can be heard is the engine of the truck clicking as it cools off. They decide it is safe for EATW and Broth to go back in with the walkie talkies for each man while Borat stays outside and watches for anything suspicious.
Broth picks up a large amount of beef jerky as well as the food. Along with food, Broth picks up a variety of medications, advil, sudafed, vitamins... etc.

The men remain in constant contact, Borat reassuring the men the coast is clear, and the men inside reassuring eachother that they have not run in to any issues. EATW and Broth each have their own mountain bike now, and are towing two shopping carts each, EATW filling his with building supplies and tools, as well as picking up a gas grill tub, which he plans to use as an explosive in case of a large group of zombies would be encountered. EATW breaks open the glass case holding the ammunition with the butt of his .270 and fills the second cart with just ammo and gun maintenance supplies. Broth is gathering up canned goods and non-perishables and filling his carts with those, and has grabbed pairs of boots and sneakers for each man, as well as extra pairs of socks. He also picks up a water filter for drinking water and coffee filters, which he intends to use for many purposes. The two men tow their carts back out to the truck and on the way out, pick up some lighters and some small jewelry that walmart has. You never know what type of bartering tools you might need in this world if your supplies run short.

EATW and Broth reach the truck and finish loading up the bed of the truck with the supplies and bikes, and with the lack of room, EATW is now sitting behind Borat in the back driver's seat as they exit, scanning the drivers side while Broth scans the passenger side, making sure that no one, human or zombie, has seen them. At this point the weight of the supplies can be seen by the drop in the suspension, but the Sierra just keeps on rolling. The men make a clean escape, having not been seen or heard by anyone, in and out in 11 minutes.

Team Tits

Area: Middle and Eastern Tennessee

Drew
[Weapon 1] - Crowbar
[Weapon 2] - Shark Suit
Asset: Navigation

Doughie
[Weapon 1] - Remington 1100 Autoload Shotgun
[Weapon 2] - Sig 556 Semiautomatic Rifle (w/ Suppressor and Scope)
Asset: Physique and Morale

TH
[Weapon 1] - Katana
[Weapon 2] - Shark Suit
Asset: Health and Survival Knowledge

Rufus
[Weapon 1] - Aluminum Bat
[Weapon 2] - Shark Suit
Asset: Endurance

Shark Suits are essentially chain mail armor. It's nonrigid so it bends with the body allowing full flexibility, and is strong enough to prevent skin punctures from shark bites. Even if a zombie gets close enough to bite and infect us, it will not be able to bite through the suit, which makes the protection worth using the weapon slot for it. In return, the three suit wearors have reliable melee weapons, and since the suit takes the inherent risk of getting close to a zombie to attack it, it proves a hack and slash ability that nonsuit wearors wouldn't be able to do, unless they were foolish.

Drew has a crowbar, which provides a utility use. If a door needs pried open or leverage need be applied to something, this allows for it. And as a weapon, it's a blunt instrument that's easily wielded.

Doughie has no shark suit, but is the holder of the firearms. The Remington 1100 is an automatic shotgun ranging from 12 gauge to 20 gauge. It requires to pump action while taking the same rounds as a pump. This will only be used in emergency, since it's loud and will be most effective when we need an escape. The Sig 556 is a semiautomatic rifle, and with a suppressor and scope, it not only provides a firearm that can be fired with little noise, but at long ranges. It's scope provides a utility of reconassaince to check distant areas for signs of zombies or human presence. Doughie is also the tallest, so he has more range of sight.

TH has a katana. It provides a cutting utility tool, while is fairly easy to use since it's a slashing weapon and not a lunging/stabbing sword.

Rufus has an aluminum bat. It's a blunt instrument and is the easiest of our weapons to use. It's utility use would be to smash windows and other minor demolition instances. It can also be combined with the crowbar to split wood. Just wedge the crowbar noncurved end into the wood, and use the bat as a hammer to hit down on the curved end.

Our mode of transportation to the Walmart will be a 4wheel drive sedan, such as a Subaru. Being enclosed in a car will prevent us from being exposed, and won't require us to use energy to ride bikes to the destination. Although, if available, a roofrack that would allow storing bikes or additional storage would be seized. The downside is it makes noise and requires gas, but I think saving energy and the extra protection is worth it. Extra gas will be stored in the trunk and salvaged whenever possible.

Once at the Walmart, three of us will exit the car and open the sliding doors. Two will be lookouts while one opens the doors. In a typical Walmart, there are two sets of doors - one most outer door and a second most inner door - along with a pull down door where the carts are pulled in and out. We will lock both sliding doors, and in this time, all three will open the sliding down door and push the carts outside. The driver will then pull the car inside so that's it's inside the building, and the pulldown door will be locked. This will allow safe and easy protection to load up supplies when we do eventually exit, and helps to protect the car/gas from being stolen by humans.

Once the car is inside, we will keep the outermost sliding doors and the pulldown door locked and unlock the innermost sliding door. We will then enter the main building as a group and stay as a group. The reason we do not split up is because the building is big and it's unkown who is inside. There could be zombies. There could be people. If one group hears a noise, they'll have to take time away from collecting supplies to investigate it. If they find a zombie, then the noise they make killing it may attract more that are in the building. Two people taking on an entire store full of zombified Walmart employees would be disadvantageous. So the group stays together, and if we find zombies, it will be easier to deal with it and fend off another additional zombies. Also, this will allow for multiple lookouts while we gather supplies. In a group of two, there would be only a single lookout while one member collects supplies. There will be a rule that no one leaves the group - period. It will take longer to collect all of our supplies, but I feel being this thorough and cautious is wisest.

Once we return to the car, we close the innermost doors behind us and locked them. We are now fully protected to load the car. Once we are done, the driver and one team member get in the car while one member unlocks the pulldown door and, very quickly, lifts it up and returns to the car while the other, likely Doughie, covers him with his rifle. The two get in the car, and the driver pulls out of the building with all of us safely inside.

We then use Drew's navigation to return the camp as quickly as possible. Since it is night, it's most important to get back to camp rather than save fuel. Drew knows the area, and the 4wheel drive capabilities of the car allow us to leave main roads if need be.

I hate to punch holes in anyone groups scenario but I have got to tell ya why I voted for the Team Zed Faced Killas,

First off Team Gun Slingers...Horses? You are going to place your lives in the hopes that Zombies don't scare the **** out of horses. In which case the Horse throws you off and you are dead. There are also some other problems with Horses. By having horses you are having to provide food, protection, water, etc. for another living being. In this case it is vital because it is you primary source of advanced transport. You also have the unreliability of the horse and its actions in a gun fight...your riding around on a horse shooting your guns. It might throw you off its back simply because its scared of the gun fire. To top it all off you could get more loot in and out with a truck than horses. AR-15 are a nice touch...ammo is pretty common but I want to know how you came about getting the AR-15 in the first place? They are not an uncommon gun in any form, but you would have had the precognition to purchase all these AR-15 pre-zed...and you would really need to meticulous in keeping them in working order.

Team Falcon Punch

Dirt Bikes + (50 + LBS) of junk in your packs + your weapons which could be around 10-15 pounds. You are going to have to raid places daily in order to get enough supplies to last you...and that increases your danger risk. Ahhh I almost forgot the Remote Control car that will drag the Zombies around in a great Benny Hill chase that leads you to the powerless camera room because honestly if there was power every where would there really be a crisis and would you need batteries? So you wont be able to look at the security cameras....And back to the remote control car...really???? a remote control car???? you are fighting for your life and a remote control car with a camera is your great idea? Oh and btw the back doors on a walmart are probably locked and if they are anything like most stores you would be unable to get through the door without explosives.

Team Tits

I almost could vote for your idea except for one thing...

WHere are you getting Shark Suits in the middle of Tennessee?

The Zed Faced Killas

It basically came down to you and the aforementioned Team Tits...and it was the SHark Suits that did it in for them...when all in all it is an ok idea...but like I had said...where are you going to get those In Tennessee? I might be wrong and there might be a Dive shop at the Aquarium in Gatlinburgh, TN but o well...Other than that both your ideas are bearable but not ideal. So you win.

We are in ranch land. There is plenty of grass for the horses to feed off of, and they don't require ridiculous amounts of water.

As far as the weapons ago, i actually own them so they were pre-acquired. This is a pic i had posted earlier but removed. Two AR-15s, two Dracos, a 12 gauge and a 9mm Beretta

The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, TN was my thinking. It's one of the largest aquariums in the country. And if not there, there's the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg. I live in Chattanooga, and the plan would be for me to have looted them by the time I met up with the group. If for some reason I couldn't get them or there weren't enough, I think there's a great chance that the Ripley's Aquarium would have them. It's very touristy, with programs for tourists to swim with the fish, and practically any aquarium period will have shark suits (or at the least, the shark suit sleeves) to protect employees when they're putting on the feeding shows.

And Chattanooga and Gatlinburg falls into our area of Middle and Eastern Tennessee.

I was so enthralled with the narrative of the plans that I forgot to look at them critically.

The only transport that I actually like is the 4 door sedan. The problem with horses has been covered. I feel bikes are limited in terms of protection and hauling, less space probably means more trips. The diesel sound great for protection, hauling, and range, but it leaves absolutely no stealth. One of my friends has a big diesel and you can honestly hear it from a block away, so if there is anyone around the Walmart then they will know you are there immediately.

I accidentally made a typo in my writeup:

I know I said "autoload" and "automatic" in the entry, but just wanted to clarify that Doughie doesn't have to pump his shotgun to reload. It's autoload, so it has less recoil and he can keep on firing without taking the extra second to eject the shell.

I don't want to discuss too much now as I don't want to help other teams correct their flaws (all teams have them) this early, but I see where I could make an improvement or two in my write-up.

Since we can't vote for our own, I voted team tits. Yay tits!

Their plan and mouse of transportation seems most likely of the other three ;), to be successful. I'm tired so I won't explain much more until tomorrow, lol.

I voted for Zed face, 95% of which is because they have a vehicle that allows them to transport far more than anyone else, as well as a fort and forts are cool...

My flaws...

Team Gunslinger - Horses are the undoing. They require a lot of maintenance, are not good with loud noises without some serious training and may very well be startled by Zombies. On top of this, they make a lot of noise and leave an obvious trail to be followed.

The plan itself is solid but that is a serious weak link in the plan.

Team Falcon Punch - The Bikes are an issue. You will be limited in carrying capacity as well as having to deal with punctures. The plan is also dependent on the zombies being fascinated by a remote control car, if they do not react to it then the whole plan is thrown awry.

Team Tits - I imagine Shark Suits with that kind of insulation to be able to take a bite would be hot has hell. My impression of Tennessee is that it would not be a pleasant place to walk around in heavily insulated suits. Fatigue is a killer when it comes to Zombies.

On top of that is a complete dependence on Drew for navigation purposes, in the event he was lost to you, things would be tough.

Zed Face - Plan is rock solid for me, best mode of transport in every regard except noise, the most storage and ability to replace anything missing from their arsenal. On top of this they are the only team who seem to have already located a HQ from which to base their movements.

So yeah... Zed face get my vote. Team Tits would be second. The other two a fair distance behind, with the horses being the biggest weakness and thus the reason they would be last!

And I thought we were going to Walmart for just ammo and food. I didn't know we were ******* picking up survival gear and enough camping supplies to make a second fort knox. Everyone can have fun having a horde of zombies follow them home driving their automobiles...

Bantx I don't mean to be a dick but could you put a little more detail into the background of the situation?

PS According to Team ZFK it gets dark at 10:11 AM in Pennsylvania.

Yeah what gear you pick up is irrelevant. Bantx said so. Votes are clearly being decided based on this issue. Therefore I declare this vote invalid.

I've stated twice in 2 different post the original scenario and a post following that responding to i think it was you saying you would salvage as much as possible. So it was pretty clear that whatever you get will be irrelevant to having the best more efficient way to getting to walmart, how about you will approach it and getting supplies, and returning. Most Efficient, safest plan.

Whatever you get will be irrelevant to future scenarios, but it is a supply run so how efficiently you go about doing this comes in to play.

No my guess would be you are going on a supply run with bikes. You are lucky enough to find a wallmart that hasn't been ransacked and left without any supplies and you are going to bring camping backpacks on bikes. How exactly are you going to carry your huge weapons (fasmas shotguns AR-15s, rifles etc) with a full camping pouch on your back and effectively steering a bike? As stripped walrus has said even if you were able to pull it off you would have to get more supplies every week.

First of all the whole mission was we were going to Walmart so we don't really have another choice...

Second of all we were just going for food/ammo...

Also I don't see why horses and to less of an extent a sedan would be that much better. On the one hand you wouldn't have to carry the stuff but on the other hand we're probably the only ones that won't have zombies following them home...

Horses have 100x the stamina and strength that you do to carry supplies and pedal your ass back to camp.

Also, horses are a lot stealthier than an actual vehicle. When trotting on dirt or grass, you can barely hear them. The chain spinning around a bike probably makes more noise than a horse pacing does.
