Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas
I get it he is not on a sexy QB type team .... but watch what little tape there is on him and he is the best QB in College football why is not any hype on the guy ?

well hitting a WR in stride with two DB's with in 2 yard of him 55 yard down field in the middle of the field is not a NFL throw?

There's about him, but he wouldn't be a top signal caller in this draft and i think the sentiment is that he'll be back next year for his senior season so that's when the hype train will start

What in the world are you blathering about? Bobby Petrino runs a pro-style offense that is known to be very QB friendly.
I mean at least many of the people who have played for him have put up some rather decent numbers that are certainly more legit than the inflated Chuck and Duck and spread system garbage we see in today's college football.

I'll put it this way, if Wilson declared for this draft, he would become my 2nd rated QB right away.

I like him more than Mallett, smarter, more accurate, still completes high risk throws downfield. Looks the part. However, I fear a negative Brian Brohm comparison coming on for him who I liked quite a bit... same size, roughly same athlete, same system. Not really fair to him, but you know it's coming....

Despite this guy's insane lack of grammar, he is onto something.
No, Tyler Wilson is not the best quarterback in college football. I do believe he is the third best qb prospect in the nation behind Luck and Barkley. I like the kid a lot and he has some very nice natural ability. The kid is no Brian Brohm; he shows a much bigger arm than Brohm ever did.
Still, borderline 1st Rounder. There is a lot to like, but very little on tape right now.

Clearly only the best player at each position can be considered a NFL prospect.

Are people still calling Mallett a 'dumb' QB?? WTF does that even mean anymore?
No way Wilson is more accurate beyond 30 yards than Mallett. Or twenty yards. Or even 10. Just because he's riding the bench in NE, let's not act like the guy wouldn't be starting as a rookie for a third of the teams in the NFL.
Everyone in the Arkansas program IMO would say up front that Wilson simply is not the talent Mallett is, period.
Wilson is no idiot, however, and if he stays for his senior year he has a great chance to be the top QB drafted in 2013.
Bill Belichick has the second coming of Dan Marino waiting in the clubhouse for the Pats and he's going to make some sorry team in '13 pay a king's ransom to trade for him.
Watch and see.

Wilson certainly makes better decisions with the football, no question about it. I didn't say Mallett was dumb... and saying Mallett is the next Dan Marino is just so over the top IMO.

Brohm didn't fail because of his arm. His arm was 2nd on the gun at the Combine behind only Joe Flacco in that class. He failed because he was never comfortable in an NFL offense.

I'm a big fan of Wilson. I assume he won't declare this year though.

Wilson could be a early round pick in the 2013 draft, he doesn't enough experience to declare for this draft. I'd still rank Mallett higher at this point.

I think the other thing is although he's a darn good QB now, he still lacks that "signature" game that gets the scouts attention. I think that's another reason why there hasn't been a whole lot of buzz surrounding him at this time. Maybe he'll light up LSU and in the bowl game and get the recognition he deserves

He gets a pretty good South Carolina defense this week...

He looked pretty damn good leading a comeback against Texas AM (though apparently everyone does that). I think he looks like an NFL QB with the way he moves around and keeps his eyes downfield, reminds me of Aaron Rodgers.
This is where he is vastly superior to Mallett, lets not be revisionists and overrate Mallett as a prospect. He has an elite arm and is probably a pretty smart player as far as football IQ is concerned, but he seemed to crumble under pressure and really struggled with shuffling his feet and still throwing downfield. Which you have to be able to do in the NFL. Mallett could have success but it probably needs to be in the right situation and he might always have his limitations.
To be honest I like Wilson alot, I think he should return for his SR year though as more exp against top competition will only help him. And he might get lost in the shuffle a bit.

One of the reasons I don't like Landry Jones or Blaine Gabbert last year was their feet.
This kid Tyler Wilson plants his foot and throws the ball even when he knows he's going to take a huuuge shot which he's taken a lot of this year.
He'd be smart to go back next season and he'll have a shot at being a 1st round pick.

I don't know if he'll be alive next season behind that OL...
