I carried around a nice Fireball staff for a while as my troll defense. Now I just sneak past or summon something to distract the troll while I pour arrows into it.

Well the guy I made before was a warrior sort, but I really had trouble with the whole distance thing. I'm thinking I'm gonna go with an orc, start with one and two-handeds, increase my sneak and archery, and then with their ability to craft, I'll have fine armor and weapons. Plus, with my Dragonborn abilities, I think that's about as good as it gets.

Wood Elf or Dark Elf are the best archers. Wood Elfs overall are the better archers and thieves, but I would choose a Dark Elf because they're nearly immune to fire (which comes in handy against most dragons).
