I hate one handed dual-wielding so much. The inability to block is lame and the combined amount of damage done isn't that much better than using a war hammer or greatsword. I think I'll either use one of those two or use a shield and sword combo so I can be a ******* truck or use a two handed so I can not be run over by trolls. Does anyone know how to compensate for this as an Orc?
Went and did a Companion quest where I had to save a kidnapped guy. Went and got him, and as I was leaving, I saw a dragon in the distance. So I fast traveled before it detected me, dropped the dude off, and went right back to see if it was still there. So, I ran towards it, and then see ******* Alduin's also there raising a named dragon from a grave. So, at one point, there are 3 dragons flying around me. So Alduin flies off, and the two dragons start attacking me: one with ice and the other fire. So I start fighting them. Then, as they're looping around, they start attacking something else. It's a ******* giant herding two mammoths. So genius me decides it's a good idea to continue to participate. So I finish off one of the dragons that has landed, while the other one stays airborn. So once it's dead, the giant and mammoths attack me. So I start running for my life, and thankfully I pass a random halfnaked Stormcloak soldier. Poor bastard was hiding behind a rock with his bare fists raised, and I go screaming past him. So he gets straight tore up, and it gives me a second to gain my bearings. I use shout that calls animals to your side, and now it's me and two mammoths vs giant vs dragon. And the mammoths and I won! SWEET PACHYDERM JUSTICE IS MINE!
Ok, so technically it's 3 dragons, 2 mammoths, 1 giant, and a Stormcloak soldier in a pear tree. First time fighting multiple ones at once, so YAY!
There's some serious spoilage there, so keep it zipped if that's important.
Paralysis poisons work good on Giants. I sneak attack them with a poisoned arrow and then just hack at them as they get up. My two handed is strong enough that they are dead before they can get to their feet.
On that 2nd one ^^^^, reminds me of my brother calling me not long after he got the game and was SUPER pissed off.
doing the mission where you have to sneak into the Thalmor embassy. He listened to the wood elf and only gave him some "discrete" equipment to be snuck in. My brother didn't bring his warhammer along, only his bow. He managed to kill the ones inside but once out into that courtyard, he kept getting killed easily.
None of his saves were from before he entered either, so he was totally stuck and swearing up a storm and was thinking about restarting the game with a new character.
I told him to calm down and try turning the difficulty all the way down to get through....he did and had no trouble.
