If he truly is the signing (for some odd reason), then I look forward to several years of mediocrity. I think we'll fair better than 4-12 with Sherman, but consistently finishing 7-9/8-8 will blow.

I won't hand in my fan card, but I probably wouldn't mind working every Sunday during the football season if that happened.;

Btw, Pagano does favor an attacking 3-4. The Colts are going to be an entirely different team than we're used to seeing.

They will probably go 3-4 with...
If the Colts go out and get a NT in the draft, maybe Ta'amu they would have the makings of a good defense.
Nevis, Ta'amu and Moala along the defensiv line then Hughes, Mathis, Angerer and Wheeler at linebacker.
Not a bad defensive front IMO.

Mathis is a free agent who may want to sign for big money elsewhere than go back to a clearly rebuilding team.
Also, Nevis is faaaaar shorter than ideal for a 3-4 DE. The best ones tend to be in the 6'5ish area (Seymour, Aaron Smith, Justin Smith, JJ Watt)

YEAH JJ Watt is one of the best 3-4 DE as a rookie :)

Ahhhhh ****. Just when I got excited about the whole Hue Jackson maybe coming to Baltimore thing, we lose Pagano and maybe Hue in the same day? **** you, NFL. **** you.

Well if thats the case then why move to the 3-4? They would posibly need two outside linebackers, a nose tackle and a defensive end.

I don't think that Pagano is locked in to a 3-4 defense. We ran it in Baltimore because the personnel fit well. Lets see what he does with some positional coaches and FA moves.

Can we steer this back to JJ Watt?
Anyways, Joe Reedy said Jeff FitzGerald might not be back as a LB coach next year in Cincy. So we are likely to get Zim 2 new coaches. Unfortunately one isn't our DL coach :/

I don't trust LaConfora at all since he's an idiot who doesn't know **** and keeps talking out of his ass. I still remember him saying our coaching search will last a week.
That being said, I have no idea why the Bucs are interested in Mike Sherman. He brings nothing to the table (except for maybe discipline, but tons of coaches bring that aspect). He's a boring WCO guy with no imagination and creativity. Aren't we tired of these boring WCO coaches ? I mean, when Gruden finally got the boot, Bucs fans were happy about being free of his uncreative WCO offense that brought nothing intersting to the table. Then, we proceeded to replace Gruden by a crappier version of himself with Greg Olson. He ran the same boring vanilla offense. So, why are the Glazers interested in Mike Sherman ? He would bring some variant of that boring ineffective offense that we have been forced to watch for years. That's why I was sort of excited into the idea of getting Chip Kelly, he would at least add creativity to this offense and bring interesting ideas. Mike Sherman is the opposite of that. He's an old conservative idiot who's stuck in the 90s.
I mean, there isn't a single team that wants Mike Sherman except us. No one even wants him as an OC. If we don't sign him, he will still be on the coaching market in 3 years. Even Texas A&M kicked him out of town. If the Glazers want a coach who has experience, then they should sign Marty Schottenheimer. If they want a good coordonator that bring discipline, then get Mike Zimmer. If they want an offensive coach, then take Chudzinski (he at least showed he could be creative and adjust his system to his players, unlike Mike Sherman).
Plus, I highly doubt that Sherman has the capacity to build a good coaching staff. We need good coaches that can develop the young players we have. I look at what coaches he brought in Green Bay and.... huh... do no want at all.
And hiring Sherman would be a huge slap to the face of Warren Sapp. We all remember what happened between them. All the Bucs fans hated Mike Sherman at that time. If Sherman was competent, then I wouldn't care about that event at all, but since he's a failure of a head coach, I'll use this as another reason to not hire him.

Per Jason La Canfora: Rutgers coach Greg Schiano is under consideration for Bucs job. Mike Sherman had 2nd interview. Rob Chudzinski might as well

Rick Stroud said that it is uncomfirmed about the Bucs ever having any contact with Schiano. It was a local radio station that mentioned Schiano.
Stroud is a lot better knowledge than La Canfora.
La Canfora said the Bucs coaching search would barely last a week tops, and here we are.

Like I said before, you keep telling yourself what you need to in order to have hope.
I think the eventual hire is going to be underwhelming at best, laughably stupid at worst.

Can;t argue that. But there has been reports from Rick Stroud, who is more credible than La Canfora, has said the finalists will be known this morning.
No one saw Chip Kelly's name coming, so La Canfora is clueless and just guesses. My point: He's been wrong about everything when it came to the Bucs head coaching search. I'm not about to buy into what he says now.

According to Rick Stroud there is this: 620 WDAE in Tampa reporting that Rutgers coach Greg Schiano is possibly going to be the Bucs new head coach.
He also reported that it's confirmed that Mike Sherman has had his 2nd interview and that the other candidate is likely Rod Chudzinski

Schiano is a great hire IMO he's done a great job with really for the most part sub par talent at Rutgers. I'm excited to see what he can do.

Only 620 WDAE in Tampa is reporting Rutgers coach Greg Schiano is possibly going to be the Bucs next HC. No confirmation of that from Bucs

When teams talk to current college head coaches, they aren't going to confirm it for the coach's sake.
He could possibly cost the school recruits (or himself recruits if he doesn't get the job.)
It's why we didn't hear about Chip Kelly until the last possible second. Teams interviewing college head coaches tend to stay under the radar as much as possible.

Per Schefter: And former Packers HC Mike Sherman is in Miami today to see if the two sides can work out a deal for him to become Dolphins OC.
