Not coaching, but Adam Schefter is reporting that Marc Ross has emerged as a leading candidate for the Panthers' GM position.

If Mike Zimmer does not get a HC job after this season something is wrong with the NFL.

Correction. There is something wrong with the NFL. He already should've been a HC.

I'd take him in KC if he would stick to the 3-4. Me no want 4-3. :(

He an Eric DeCosta could practically have any job they want. Let's see if they leave their comfy situations in NYG and Baltimore.

I'm not really surprised by either, but I at least thought that Heckert would stay. The Weeden pick was a major flop, but the talent level has improved over his watch. Haden, Ward, Sheard, Richardson, Gordon, Schwartz, and Taylor were all very solid picks over the last 3 drafts.

The Jets are an absolute clown show. That organization is a joke.

Schotty was long overdue of his firing way before 2011 but yeah Sparano just didn't make much sense. I wanted Hue Jackson actually as the playcaller and if we can't get Norv, he'd still make some sense.

Their offense is gonna suck hard until they fire the quarterback.
Guys, notice a trend with all the coaches on the hot seat? What do they all have in common (outside of Jim Schwartz whom I think will survive)?
THEY DON'T HAVE QUARTERBACKS.
It's not a coincidence. If you don't have a quarterback, you're not gonna win. It's that simple.

Jets don't have a go to RB or stable O-Line but yeah I don't disagree that Sanchez just is not the answer. We are just really flawed as an offensive unit.

Sources tell ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Penn State head coach Bill O'Brien is on the "short lists" of the Browns and Eagles.
Adam Schefter says that Andy Reid is not expected to be a head coach candidate in San Diego.

OL isn't bad. It's not great but it's not bad. You guys need a RB.

There really is no reason to keep Rex Ryan after the season ends. I liken his situation to Charlie Weis at Notre Dame at the end of year 4. Both were successful in taking over talented teams and producing some of the most exciting seasons that either team had seen in a long time. However, once they were fully able to make their imprint on their respective teams things just started to get progressively worse for both of them. Notre Dame gave Weis a 5th year which was clearly a mistake as it would for the Jets to give Ryan a 5th year.
What has he really built in New York? The best elements of that team are the holdovers from the Mangini era (D'Brick, Mangold, Revis, and Harris). A couple of the Ryan things have worked out like the Cromartie trade and drafting Wilkerson/Kerley, but there is a far greater number of things that blew up in his face to the point where there are almost too many to count. He's a good defensive mind, but everything he and Tannebaum have done have been extremely short sighted and have hurt them for the future. Can the rebuilding Jets afford Ryan to make more short sighted moves for another year? Will he clash with the new GM? Do you really want the guy who led the maturation of Mark Sanchez potentially ruining a new QB this year?
They should fire him on Monday and end this mistake.

Steve Wyche reports Scott Pioli will be back. ChiFan24 reports Brady Quinn and Romeo Crennel will be back (hopefully).

Stating the obvious. Reid not being in Philly is going to be weird though considering he was there for 14 years. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

QB circus almost automatically make HC fired. I can see that happen but I have no objection with Ryan staying under the new GM.

Is Pettine going to get any looks? The Jets defense has been pretty good under his watch.

Ryan called the game. Pettine is still raw.
