Michael Irvin was on NFL Network after the game kind of slighting him a little bit saying that while Alex had a good game, it was against man coverage more so and that next week he'll have to throw it in tighter windows against zone coverage. That kind of irked me a little. Then of course you have Saints fans saying that Alex played against a terrible defense. Keep knocking down the walls Smith.
Oh and Jaime Dukes saying he has to have three HOF type of games to be okay in his book. I wonder what Greg Cosel will say this Thursday via KNBR, if he's on the air.

Oh and thanks for closing that other thread Borat. I couldn't stop laughing for a good five minutes after I read this. I might put in my signature:

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread. I think Alex has shoved his boot far enough up your ass.
|
Wouldn't be surprised if that poster doesn't show up anymore, unless Smith has a terrible game next time where he'll conveniently make his appearance.

Ha. No problem. I just hate that his user name is PatrickWillis. That bugs me big time.

Dukes is just a dumb moron on NFL N . I never liked him at all. They always come up with dumb excuses on why a team is actually winning and playing there heart out so I ignore him most of the time. Irvin sometimes follows his lead but usually does better then how Dukes does.Except he is just probably made Smith had made the play offs more so then the Cowboys did sore loser (jk ) Lately the only good thing that comes out of NFL Network is the recruiting senior and draft day and also NFL Red zone, as well as Mike Mayock for the senior bowl week. Other then that I just preliminarily watch it for high lights and once a week updates and Thursday night games.

Irvin still hates the 49ers and it's obvious. Dukes just doesn't want to be wrong. Sanders is like Irvin a little bit, but he's changed his tune and endorsed Alex Smith before this game started. Can't hate that much on Sanders though because of 1994.

Deion suprisingly has really good insight and information a majority of the time. Irvin is just an idiot.

What if the niners put Larry Grant out there to cover TE's on third down? He was tremendous in pass coverage when Willis was out, is that a viable thing to do?

Hey here is a nice video on NFL.com that breaks down the play that Alex and Vernon made happen. It also has some great NFL Films camera work and soundbytes on the sidelines depicting the emotion following the catch and dramatic win. Check it out:

I don't think it would make that much of a difference, Willis athletically can matchup with anyone it's the length of some of the tight ends that gives him problems. Grant would have the same issue.

Guess who made the cover of SI this week?
http://www.csnbayarea.com/blog/niner...66&feedID=5884
I really don't like the photo they used for the cover though. Especially because of where the 49ers are from.

The photo is indeed horrible; it almost looks intentional with a bad San Fran stereotype, involving a "train."
Has the SI jinx been documented recently as still legit? I wasn't even sure they printed mags anymore, other than the swimsuit issue. :) I'm much more of a Madden Cover jinx kind of guy and I hope there isn't a Niner on there next year. I'm going to guess it's Rodgers after he gets his regular season consolation MVP award.

Here is the NFL Films Sound FX from the Saints/49ers game. Pretty cool. There is a funny scene in the first minute or so when a fight breaks out between Joe Staley and Will Smith and an official tries to push Smith back saying "Mr. Smith don't do it!".

Eh, it's a regional cover. The Giants got a cover, too.
