Regarding pro day 40 times typically being faster - you've got to remember that between the combine and someone's pro day they've usually got two or three weeks to really hone their technique and drill performances. If it wasn't for the combine's "official" status slapped onto those 40 times, you'd could easily be thinking about those initial times as dress rehersals for their Pro Days. The time a player runs on ONE DAY is not the time he'll run forever. I didn't watch him run, but people said Kendall Wright looked awkward on his starts. A guy who's not a track athlete can have great natural speed but time slower than his peers because he's not accustomed to running on a track - the start, the lean, the acceleration is all learned and coached - some guys have more of a history in that, or are more naturally inclined to do well. It simply doesn't mean that Kendall Wright won't be able to seperate in the pros - it's just a number. You watch him blowing past people in college, and whatever the level of competition (This is where people go b-b-b-but Big 12 Defenses!); and you see a receiver who stretches defenses and doesn't get caught from behind. That's what you want. He can do it. Running a 4.6 means he's not the fastest guy at the track meet. Doesn't mean he can't be the best at getting behind a secondary.

Stanford Proday time! I got my Sun Bowl shirt on and I'm ready to rock. Tune in on ESPNU or Espn3.com. Goes from 2-4 on espn and 3-4 on NFLN.

Here are just some measurement they are doing. I'm sure the official numbers will be out later but this is fun for me :D

Luck QB 6041, 237 lbs, 76.25 arms spread hand to hand
Martin T 6053, 307 lbs, 9.75 hands, 34 1/8 arm, 81.75 arms spread hand to hand, 20 reps, 5.26 1st 40, 4.76 20 yard shuttle
Bademosi CB 6006, 16 reps, 10'5" broad, (great vert but couldn't hear the number, only 1 little tick left), 4.33 1st 40, 4.08 20 yd shuttle 4.28 2nd, 6.92 3-cone
Max Bergen LB 6006, 20 reps
DeCastro G 6051 (20" neck they said on tv for fun)
Fleener TE 6061, 37" vert, 4.45 1st 40, 4.22 20 yd shuttle, 7.05 3-cone (slipped on 1st attempt and was more deliberate on his 2nd)
Corey Gatewood WR 5095, 15 reps, 4.51 1st 40 4.57 2nd 40, 4.38 20 yd shuttle
Delano Howell S 5107, 4.49 1st 40, 4.24 20 yard shuttle
Michael Thomas S 5097, 184 lbs, 4.47 1st 40 4.44 2nd, 4.09 20 yd shuttle, 11.47 60 yd shuttle
Griff Whalen WR 5104 (listed at 6'1" haha), 185 lbs, 4.54 1st 40, 4.01 20 yd shuttle, 11.41 60 yd shuttle
Zach Nolan LS 6034, 244.2, 5.05 1st 40
Nate Whitaker K 5083
Masifilo DT 38 reps! 4.5 20 yard shuttle
Stewart RB 23 reps, 4.52 1st 40 4.58 2nd 40, 4.31 20 yd shuttle, 11.45 60 yard shuttle

They didn't show every one of the measurements though. I'll update this as it goes. All measurement are the unofficials from ESPN tv. Outdoors, artificial grass, windy.

20 reps for Martin is not good.

38 reps for Masifilo is pretty good though.

Word is that the start of Lucks 48 passes is gonna be deep ball passes.

No mystery with Luck. Martin and Fleener have the most to gain or lose today, probably moreso Fleener.

Smart idea to run both ways to account for the wind.

Surprised we havent heard the standard line, "oh #### now he wont be there when my team picks". Not sure where he falls but Fleener might easily end up in that first round. Maybe a Cleveland or even Pittsburgh for me.

Fleener 4.5 into the wind, forgetaboutit.

Burgh has Heath Miller and we just gave him big money. We need more of an H back and not in the first.

Miller's going to be 30 this year and his guaranteed money is already paid. Bring in the young guy and use a lot of two TEs like they do up in New England. He might not even be there then.

If you're talking about a borderline first round player going to the Steelers, Doug Martin fills a gaping need, and Fleener does not. Mendenhall might not be able to play this coming year last I read, so they'd be more prudent to add a starting running back who can carry the load, and not a TE who would probably only catch 40 passes or so and can't block. Huge guys running 4.4s are sexy, but it'd be a luxury pick for them, and I don't know if they can afford that on an aging team.

Said in the other thread too. Today doesn't move him up a ton but he is solidly in the late 1st/early 2nd and is the #1 TE.

Interesting to see DeCastro snapping for Luck. I know its probably just because they need someone to do it because there is no C, but I wonder if any of the teams think he can be a C for them.

DeCastro also has an OL face.

Hmm, bodes well as a Bengal pick (if he makes it that far) as they pretty much only want OL guys that can cover multiple spots. Having said that, Livings only covered the 'suck' spot..lol

Open Q on the Tackle Martin - one of the other online draft sites mentioned they thought he may be (initially or permanently) better suited to LG, anyone have thoughts on that?

Maybe that 75+ yard throw right on the money that Owusu dropped will shut the "no arm strength" crowd up.

papageorgio? hello? ... *crickets

That was by far the best long pass Luck has ever thrown so....

Luck looked good, threw some strikes on the skinny posts and outside stuff, most his deep throws looked exactly like his deep throws in college (floaty). Last throw he made (just chucked it as far as he could) was by far the most impressive throw of the day.

That's moronic... none of the outs/comebacks/corners looked "floaty".

Honesty I don't know where some of you come up with this crap. Then the guy throws a strike 75 yards into the wind, and it's "oh he just chucked it as far as he could"
