My 2 cents on this.
I don't know if anything has changes behind the scenes such as a personal matter or something, but the site has slid is the past couple years. It's not that the blog and the podcast aren't solid additions (personally I like both), but scouting reports are probably the biggest draw this site has and without them the content isn't at the same level. It was great since I came here in like 2005, but in recent years the reports just came later and later.
There are a bunch of guys I get interested in from the combine/prodays around this time and would love to know more about them. There are probably a sizable amount of casual fans who never touch the forums that are missing the scouting reports also. I know that the person who was gonna help fell through, but only 1 scouting report is lacking. The scouting reports are the meat and potatoes of this sites content. I know that they take the most work and time to do but they also are the most valuable.
I'm a big fan of the podcasts. I catch a fair bit of them live and generally go back and listen to ones I miss. It great for more current updates, especially during the season & senior bowl. Some of the guests are really interesting and informative. However, they aren't a replacement for the reports. I love it as supplementary coverage, but it wouldn't focus all my time and resources on the podcasts if its hurting other parts of the site.
I'm hoping that the new help will remedy this issue. I still love the site and I think its the best on the web, but there is less of a reason to not just go straight to the forums for me. I have wade through blog entries and podcasts just to get Scott Wright's opinion on a player. The information isn't easily accessible as it is now.
Please don't take any part of this as disrespectful. I love the site and the community. Its a quality place to talk football, but I feel I would be remiss if I didn't voice my perspective on this.
PS: Is there any specific reason why old full scouting reports aren't available in the archive section? They are great to look back on. Maybe hosting them isn't financially worth it.
