Jets sign David Bowens
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2815486
Seems like he is a solid player. Just what the Jets need to replace the garbage that is known as Kimo von Oelhoffen (sp?). Any dolphins fans have any info on him?
(if this is in the wrong thread, lock it I guess)

He'll play well but not spectacular. Not a long term solution and the position will still need to be addressed in the draft.

As long as he is an upgrade over Kimo, I am happy. We've signed a lot of depth at the DE position so he may not even have to do too much.

You spelled Kimo's name fully right, and Bowens is a decent player, but they need as many players that suit the system as possible.

I just saw in the article that it said they signed another DE so that's why I assumed he was a DE

I'm pretty much 99.9% sure he is a 3-4 OLB. On Thanksgiving Day, against the Lions, he played OLB.

Given that nfl.com lists Bowens as 6'3" 265 lbs. (which is also in the article) I highly doubt he is going to a 3-4 DE for the Jets and furthermore it says right in the article he is likely to serve as a pass rush specialist. Amazing what you can gather from actually reading an article before trying to comment on it...

He's slow as hell for a 3-4 OLB, the Jets are making a mistake. Even at 265, he's better off at DE.

He's too small to play a 3-4 DE. He's most likely an OLB.

Isn't as slow as you think.
