Someone should give Cro a talk show. It would be Emmitt on ESPN level hilarious.

Poor Drew Stanton. He wanted to be a 2nd string QB that is why he signed with the Jets.

They just said the Broncos were asking for a 5th, and got a 4th, 6th and 7th? I guess that means there was some sort of bidding war over Tebow?
What is wrong with the NFL?

He can backup Tebow once the Jets hit rock bottom and are forced to start him. Sanchez will need to enter witness protection anyway.

This will not end well. WTF are the Jets thinking? As if Sanchez wasn't lacking confidence already.

So when can the Jets save money from cutting the Sanchize? I like this, the jets can now ignore WR, TE and RB and just put all of their resources into the OL and defense, letting Rex Ryan go nuts while Tebow just runs the option well enough. I might have to stop disliking the Jets...

This is an absolutely horrendous trade for New York for a bunch of reasons:
1). They are supposedly bringing in Tebow to run the Wildcat package. The Wildcat is a gimmick that does not work anymore. No team that runs the Wildcat will ever win the Super Bowl.
2). Despite how maligned Sanchez is, he is obviously the better quarterback. He is every bit the winner that Tim Tebow is and he does it with better stats.
3). Fans will be clamoring for Tim Tebow to be the starter very soon, if they aren't already. This will not be good for Sanchez's confidence. It will not be good for the locker room. This will not be good for anybody.
The Jets have the pieces in place to compete in the AFC. While Sanchez has not progressed as much as the Jets would like, he has gotten better each season. The addition of Tim Tebow will hinder this progression. I think next year this is a 6 or 7 win team that finishes 3rd in the division.

I hope they don't think Tim Tebow can help fix that supposedly messy locker room. The backup QB should not be expected to be a leader at all.. Unless he's out there leading on the field, I think most players will just want him to shut the **** up.

I doubt this is a front office move. This one sounds like it came from Woody. He's all about publicity. It's why you got Favre, it's why Rex is your coach, it's why you wanted Peyton, and it's why you now have Tebow. Woody Johnson is a completely clueless individual. He just does not get it at all.

Tebow!!!!!
Yessssssssssssss! I can't wait to see Tebow Time in NY!!! I love Tebow, I don't care what anyone says. **** the haters.
That lockerroom is filled with the exact opposites of Tim Tebow. This is going to be SO entertaining.
I want the Jets to do Hard Knocks again.

This trade is problematic for Mark Sanchez considering the recent extension the Jets gave Sanchez was more of a public apology than a financial commitment to keeping him in New York and Tebow has obvious developmental tools. Denver probably got the better end of this deal but a fourth-round pick is going to be valued more highly on a draft site than in the NFL overall.

Exactly, signing Tebow was about more than just need on the football field although I think Tebow will help them there too.

No, they wanted a 4th but the jets would only give them that if they got a pick in return so the deal was: Tebow and a 7th for a 4th and a 6th.

You guys get too hung up on what a horrible passer Tim Tebow is and forget that he is still a good football player. Sanchez is terrible and when Tim freaking Tebow beats him out in camp that lOckerroom will rally together behind not needing to pretend like they respect Sanchize.

Oh, this is going to be bad.
I'm sure they got him thinking he'll just be a Brad Smith type of guy, but assholes all across the nation are going to be chanting his name and buying billboard space trying to get him to start, and Mark Sanchez is about 5x the QB Tebow is.
Kind of funny that such a good character guy is going to **** up the team's chemistry even more.
The NY Post's presses are going to melt this year.

ESPN won't even have to go into Tebowmania mode for Tebow to be the only thing on TV...

I actually like Tebow. I know I have no legit reason to other than he's a great person, but I like Tebow. How can you not root for the guy?
I'd love to see him pan out. And Mark Sanchez is going to crumble under this pressure now. Any chance Sanchez had of succeeding in NY has just been crushed.
This is all Woody Johnson. He loves attention. Let's see how this shapes up, there's no question its going to be interesting as hell.
And the best part of this is the Jets are going to get ALL the headlines in NY this year. Which is exactly how the Giants like it.

A good trade for the Broncos. Also a good dose of reality - I was tiring of all this foolish talk about how Denver would end up releasing him... so much blind hate.
I hope Tebow does well in NY. Even if he doesn't, it will be very interesting to watch things unfold under the glare of the big city lights.

Sanitize isn't just bad passer, he's a bad football player, QB and leader. He just doesn't have the instincts, work ethic or accuracy to become a good traditional QB. At least Tebow works hard, still has potential if that progress he made before this season isn't completely gone, and manages to make big plays somehow. He may never learn to pass, but if he can just become a decent thrower he can be a good QB, Sanchez needs to get excellent accuracy or understanding to become a good QB and that's going to be harder than get Tebow to just mediocre accuracy.

I think the extension was really more of a glorified restructuring than a public apology. They're kind of stuck with him for this year and next year after the deal though.
Another issue with Tebow is, if what I read was correct, his contract shoots up from a little over $1 million this year to a little over $6 million next year. That means the Jets will have nearly $20 million in cap dollars next year committed to Tebow and Sanchez unless they choose to cut Tebow or find a way to trade him.
