3 Round Exercise: Visit/Interest Based Mock
Something I wanted to do for future reference and figured I'd post it here. I did a visit based mock. Took visits into heaviest considerations followed by need and then by value. This means some of the values are a bit wacky, but that happens in the actual draft. So if your team passes on a player/position they would surely take, it is likely visit based. Same if they take a position/player that doesn't fit. But, most people won't read this and we all can laugh at them.

Very nice Packers mock.
Perry in the first would be a huge upgrade at OLB. Robinson is a high potential corner who would be good value in the second and James is about the only running back i would consider for us because of his quickness and catching ability, also BPA at that point. Very nice.

As far as I know Upshaw hasn't visited the Jets...can you shed any light on that? I do know that they went to his Pro Day but that could've been for any number of players. Rex made that comment about liking him but they haven't shown a ton of interest that I know of besides that.

Unless my eyesight and the Find feature are both failing me, I don't see David DeCastro.
Based on need, you are right, Dontari Poe is the obvious choice for the Chiefs at 11. Currently there is only one NT on the roster and that's Jerrell Powe who only took 8 snaps during the regular season. Kelly Gregg has been considering retirement and may not come back. Considering the way he played at times, that might not be a bad idea.
Pioli has always said that he pays more attention to game tape than combine numbers and Poe simply didn't show that much on tape. Sure, I know his numbers are similar to Ngata, Rajii and Phil Taylor but he was playing against lesser talent. He should have dominated and he didn't.
Should be an interesting argument in the war room at Arrowhead. Coaches arguing that "we can coach him up" vs. scouts arguing that looks like an underachiever on tape.
BTW, I really like Brandon Brooks in the 2nd.

He hasn't, but the interest you mentioned and the sheer amount of pass rushers they have looked at steered me that way.
As for Decastro, I know there would be someone left out. I'll make some quick edits

I'm not a big fan of Upshaw as a 3-4 OLB. He's a guy that should have his hand in the dirt, imo.

I haven't seen anything saying the Ravens have shown interest in Chandler Jones besides the fact that his brother plays on the team. Not a big fan of the pick. Wagner would be really nice in the 2nd round. Thomas is a terrible reach in the 3rd.

I almost opted for Stephen Hill in the first via visit, but still doesn't seem like the move they would make.

Pretty certain this is the ideal draft for the Steelers and what they would like to happen.
Alternative 2 (as it will probably be in my final mock):
1. Mike Adams (Only other option would be Nick Perry if he falls)
2. Mychael Kendricks
3. Isaiah Pead (If he is gone, Cam Johnson perhaps)

i think im starting to like massie more and more, i admit i havent seen him or took notice very much but as i look into him i like what he brings to the table.
I think they will target trenton robinson too as a FS/DB kind of guy too

Watch out for Alabama LB Jerell Harris in the 6th or 7th round. Special teamer with some upside, especially if they miss on teammate Hightower

It really doesn't but the team has shown interest. Hill is the type of WR they should be looking for but his track record doesn't look anything like the typical high Ravens pick.

Perfect Raiders pick at the end of the 3rd, Chapman is exactly what we need inside to go with Seymour and Kelly. Find a DE/OLB in the 4th and maybe OL in the 5th and I'd be very happy.

Interesting concept Shane. Can't say I like it for the Ravens but still a pretty cool idea :P

No. There's never a 0% chance of anything. It's not like OG's are that valuable.
McLellin is the only really weird pick in round 1, IMO. But I could see it.

First the bears won't let castro get pass them with two of our offensive playmakers coming off injures
Second round I'll take Zach Brown
And we are taking a receiver in the 3rd round who was graded out as a fringe second round pick before the injuries. Not with Dennard still available

Do you happen to have a list of which players have visited which teams? Would be interested to see it.
