Really? First I'd heard of it, but that would explain it. I didn't think he was a second-rounder, but my eyebrows have been getting higher as the likes of Chris Rainey, Ronnie Hillman, Vic Ballard and Alfred Morris have come off the board. I thought Polk was a pretty similar prospect to Turbin, so seeing him still available surprises me. Seemed like a no-brainer to the Steelers until the went with Rainey.

That's a bit comforting.

He's built like a tank. Pretty much no fat. Again I wouldn't be surprised if he never amounted to anything. He had two left feet back in the day, but he has everything you look for physically in an NFL defensive lineman. He's gotten a lot better recently.

Yeah, that was basically my impression of him as well. I don't think it's impossible for that type of player to have a measure of success, but it's certainly hard to get excited about him for be after the entire Cunningham thing.
One guy who I lost track of who would be an interesting flyer at this point or with one of the seventh rounders in Sammy Brown from Houston. His size probably takes him off of our board, but I really liked what I saw from him the past few years. Good feel for rushing the passer to go along with solid physical tools and production(albeit as a questionable level of competition). Looked like he could do a bit more than rush from what I saw of him too.

I think Kinne is the next QB taken and yes Taze gets drafted.

The official draft site doesn't even have a grade or writeup for him. They even did that for kickers and punters!
Quick, someone find out if he ran a 4.5 at 290 lbs!

Their thing to do is swing so much where some picks will hit. Belichek is known for getting a lot of picks so he can try to pick it all. He's trying to be the scouting department and the head coach, and that's spreading him thin. This year's draft might be a good new start for Bill's drafting record recently. He strikes out in the 2nd-4th rounds too much.

He always has that tempting option of stockpiling picks, then auctioning one off for even more picks next draft. Bellichick is a control freak who loves to control the draft every damn yr.

A couple of years ago they addressed the secondary, then it was the big influx of TEs. This year in Jones, Hightower and Bequette they beef up the pass rush.
|
They had to go pass rush this yr. I read a yr. ago that their 2010 sack total was like half that of 09, & that is very un-Bellichicklike. They used to beat teams like drums b/c they got to your QB but you couldn't get to Brady.

I'm thinking McNutt or Streeter for the eagles.
Edit: Wow, called that haha.

"One of the top prospects on the CFL’s radar, Bilukidi has intriguing size, length and movement skills. Recorded a 34½-inch vertical leap and redirects and accelerates very well for a big man. However, he did not consistently dominate marginal competition and his eyes and instincts could be restricting. Does not feel pressure and will have to learn to play with heavier hands — does not jolt blockers or shed quickly enough. Played inside, outside and even stood up some at GSU. Raw, developmental, practice-squad candidate with the dimensions to play in an even or odd front."
Ok, found that on Bilukidi.

Raiders draft DE Jack Crawford 158th overall
The Associated Press
Updated: 04/28/2012 12:07:38 PM PDT
ALAMEDA, Calif.—The Oakland Raiders have selected Penn State defensive end Jack Crawford with the 158th pick in the NFL draft.
The Raiders traded down 10 spots Saturday before taking Crawford. Oakland also got a seventh-round pick from Detroit in the deal. <-- Watch the Raiders use the extra 7th rounder to take Burfict His whole biog & history just screams Raider.
Crawford started three years at Penn State but is still new to football. He moved from England to the United States to play basketball in high school and picked up football in his junior year in high school. He had 6.5 sacks for the Nittany Lions last season.
The Raiders previously selected Utah guard Tony Bergstrom with a compensatory pick at the end of the third round and San Diego State linebacker Miles Burris with a compensatory pick at the end of the fourth.

NFL.colm doesn't even have height/weight on Nate Ebner. He played for Ohio State. Why would they not bother getting that? Bill Beliheck...
