Yeah but now you have absolutely no deep threat either.
True though I'd argue that we didn't really have one to begin with...a reliable one anyway. We've attempted to throw plenty of deep bombs to Hester and he just doesn't have the feel required to get under it and catch it over the shoulder in stride.
And Knox pretty much just ran comeback routes. For every one he caught running away from the LOS, he caught at least 10 coming back towards it.
Plus...with our o-line...setting up something deep just couldn't happen. Better to have some big outlets anyway.

Yeah, I'd still like to see a legit seam stretcher on that offense though. You can't survive on 8 yard passes all game long. You need some explosion.

Well, in the last couple years we managed to go 11-5 and 7-3 while Cutler was healthy without having explosion OR consistent ability to complete those 8 yard passes.
Having one instead of neither is definitely an improvement.
Love both the Perry and Worthy picks. Both guys that I had as better than the spots we took them in and filled our two biggest needs. Honestly, there weren't any Green Bay picks that I didn't like.
Easily Jason Slowey for me. I've never seen so many ragdoll and pancake blocks in one vid. He looks like a real A-hole on the field and that's exactly what I like to see out of interior O-Line prospects...
I watched a lot of Wisconsin games, and I just don't see it in Toon. I think he's a #4 WR in the NFL. It was crazy when he was talked about as a potential first/early second. In the 4th round it was a fine pick, but I don't expect too much from him.
Other than Richardson, I just can't get settled down when thinking about picking Billy Winn in round 6. I don't know why he fell, I thought he would be a 3rd round pick as a DT/DE 'tweener........but I feel like he'll be an impact player that reminds me of 2008 when we took DT Ahtyba Rubin in round 6 - they both have that same tenacity and pedigree that will make them late round steals at the position.

Which is exactly how he'll be utilized in our offense...not a lot of pressure for him and hopefully he should be able to win matchups against the opposing teams 4th CB and get open for Brees. If there's one team to not bet against with late round picks, it's the Saints.

The whole world loves neophyte athletic tight end Jimmy Graham from Miami with the 95th pick. "Best pick in the draft,'' one AFC coach told me. "Give him time, and in that offense, he'll be better than [Jeremy] Shockey by the start of next year.''
“We know that no matter the adversity, be it the lockout, be it the suspension or be it a hurricane, our men will pull together and defend the honor of this city. We’ve shown we’ve been able to do that.” - Jabari Greer
Nick Perry is close behind and will get more acclaim and stats.. but I stand by this assertion, which I've had since early in the draft process;
If you were to design the perfect 3-4 DE/DT for our primary defensive alignment (which is effectively a 2-4-5) it would be Jerel Worthy.
Cat-like quickness combined with big size and strength. His job will be to penetrate double teams and wreak havoc, which I felt was by far his biggest strength in college. His weakness was getting locked up in blocks in college but as long as his threat draws a double team it's still a win.
Should have been a top 20 pick, absolute crazy value where we got him.
Really hard for me to pick a favorite as I love almost every single pick but I'm gonna go with Devon Still. IDK how he fell that far but I think we got one of the best DTs in this class at great value. Would take him over Worthy in a heartbeat any day of the week.
The best thing about it is that he's probably not gonna be counted on right away and will get to develop whilst playing in a rotation with Domata Peko, Geno Atkins, Pat Sims, and Brandon Thompson(another flat out STEAL). I think he's gonna have a huge chip on his shoulder from teams passing on him and will help make our interior DL one of the most formidable in the league in the coming years.
My HM would have to be my homer UGA pick in Orson Charles(Although I was really stoked with the Sanu pick as well). Him paired alongside Jermaine Gresham, who IMO is due for a huge breakout, is going to be sick and once again we don't even necessarily need him to step in right away. Having Donald Lee on the roster will be a big help for him while he develops his blocking and his presence in the passing game should allow him to see the field early and often. His DUI incident may be a blessing in disguise for this team as I think he's a good kid who made a mistake. I don't expect any off the field problems for him in the future.
Yeah but now you have absolutely no deep threat either.
If Knox and Hester are lmao-worthy, why are you hinting that we've somehow lost a deep threat? They were our receivers.
To answer the question, I didn't particularly like any of our picks. Didn't particularly dislike any, either. McClellin is probably my favorite because I think he fits what Lovie wants on the weak side just as well as he would have fit a 3-4. I think he'll do exactly what we've been needing out of that spot.
I'm most excited to see how Barron does, but I wasn't expecting him and rationalised it after he got picked. Lavonte David on the other hand is a guy I was praying we'd get, especially when we traded back into the 2nd, so he's my guy.

Courtney Upshaw was one of my dream picks for the Ravens, so naturally I'll say him. Beyond that, I really love the Asa Jackson pick. I think he's got starter potential down the road and you can never have too many good, young CBs. I'd groom him to take over the nickel role and keep Ladarius Webb and Jimmy Smith on the outsides. Really nice looking CB group.

For the Packers, it might be a surprise for me to say this but Mike Daniels DT from Iowa. Moreso than Worthy and Perry. Obviously I dont think he out performs them but he was also great value to me. Or BJ Coleman.
