Preliminary 2013 Top 10
I would like to start off by saying this is very early and I haven't done a lot of some of these guys. Also, take the comparisons with a pinch of salt and they aren't dead on.
1. Matt Barkley, QB USC – pocket passer with great intangibles. Very good accuracy and good command at the huddle. Lack of ideal measureables and doesn’t have the biggest arm. Can make NFL calibre throws and is a potential franchise QB. Goes through NFL-style progressions. Would have been a top 10 pick this year. NFL Comparison; Matt Ryan
2. Keenan Allen, WR Cal – big play threat. Nice size/speed ratio and soft hands. Silky smooth athlete. Snatches the ball in the air and has great YAC ability. Stands out on film and has produced against future NFL players. NFL Comparison; Joey Galloway
3. Barkevious Mingo, DE LSU – major upside as a pure pass rusher. Has the ability to add to his 240lb frame easily. Great speed off the edge and can get after the passer. Former track star. Played in a deep rotation at LSU and needs to refine his technique. Prototypical stand up edge rusher. NFL Comparison; Demarcus Ware
4. Robert Woods, WR USC – ultra productive and has a good chemistry with QB Matt Barkley. Soft hands and can make tough catches. Savvy route runner already and can set DBs up with a plethora of moves. Lacks ideal height and bulk. NFL Comparison; Brandon Lloyd
5. Jarvis Jones, OLB Georgia – great athlete with a tremendous first step. Has shown he is able to play as a stand up rusher. Can drop into coverage and set the edge in the run game. Needs to add more bulk and use his hands better when engaging blockers. Possible major injury concerns. NFL Comparison; Anthony Spencer
6. Xavier Rhodes, CB Florida State – Elite size and good quickness. Can play both man and zone coverage. Very physical and can play at the line. Straight line speed is adequate for his size. May be exploited in off coverage against smaller, quicker WRs. NFL Comparison; Nnamdi Asomghua
7. Sam Montgomery, DE LSU – explosive edge rusher who produced well last year. Great size and has the room to get bigger. Terrific first step and can be on top of OTs before they have set themselves in their stance. Terrific motor and chases plays down. NFL Comparison; Robert Quinn
8. Marcus Lattimore, RB South Carolina – elite size and good enough speed. Carried the gamecock offense from the first day he stepped on campus. Gets stronger as the game goes on. TD machine. Injury concerns after devastating knee injury last year. Is he dynamic enough to be elite? NFL Comparison; Beanie Wells
9. Star Lotulelei, DT Utah – monster of a man, but not too big to the point where weight concerns come in, comes in at around 325lbs. Prototypical NT. Plays with tremendous leverage and can’t be moved. Flashes good movement skills for such a big man. Very raw and doesn’t offer much, yet, on passing downs. NFL Comparison; Vince Wilfork
10. Tyler Wilson, QB Arkansas – nice size and a big arm. Played in a pro style offense. Nice accuracy and can thread the needle. Needs to make better decisions with the football. NFL Comparison; Matthew Stafford

I don't get the Allen/Galloway comparison. Galloway was a pure speed guy and one of the fastest top WR prospects in the last 20 years. Allen I think is a 4.5 guy who is big and smoothe who makes a ton of catches instead of being Desean Jackson/Joey Galloway type downfield, big play threat.
And as for Tyler Wilson, this isn't a criticism this is a legitimate question...does he really have a big arm? I know Stafford and Cutler and Favre were the three examples you think of when you think of big armed gunslingers who can throw it late into tight windows. Weeden is kinda like that too in his style. I can't wait for college football season so I can start looking at these guys and developing opinions and comparisons.

In regards to Allen I couldn't think of a great comparison to be honest. His YAC ability is top notch though and he does have a good 3 inches on Galloway.
As for Wilson his arm isn't as big as Stafford's, but then again very few are, but it's not far off.

yeah, i don't think anyone is in the Stafford/Cutler/Favre class of arm strength without it being obvious. But IMO you can still compare a QB to those guys if they have a strong arm and a gunslinger mentality where they love to throw downfield and fit the ball into tight spaces at the risk of throwing more INTs than normal.

I like Bray and don't think he's far away from Wilson IMO. It will also help him having his top two WRs and the fact that Wilson lost his top 3 WRs and HC.
I think Bray needs to do some serious bulking up because he's too thin for his height.
Overall he would probably be on this list if it was top 15 or 20

I like Geno Smith better than Bray. Very good QB class next year though. No one as good as Luck or Griffin...but Barkley, Wilson, Smith, Bray, Thomas, and Jones all look like first rounders right now.

I really like Bray and Hunter next year. Obviously, it's something of a projection, as Hunter is coming off a knee injury and Bray is rail-thin, but I think they'll both be top 5-10 prospects by the end of the season if Hunter checks out medically and Bray shows up to the combine at 225.

Agreed.
Jarvis appears to be much quicker than Anthony Spencer.

A couple of junior DL prospects who might be better than the de's from LSU are Shariff Floyd - DT - Florida and Jackson Jeffcoat - DE - Texas. Another junior de who could declare is Vernon Gholston from Mich St. I think all 3 will be in the top half of the 1st round if they declare.

I like Barkevious Mingo a lot more than Sam Montgomery. He just has more tenacity, quickness and explosion to his game.

Don't forget about Oregon's Dion Jordan. This edge rusher class looks to be much more promising than 2012.
