That sucks a little. An extended director's cut may alleviate the pacing issues I had with the movie.
But I am guessing that Nolan is of the mindset that he final product should be what is shown in theaters. I kind of disagree, but I most certainly have to respect Nolan's opinion on the matter.

It was 2:45 and my showing had 30 minutes of previews and commercials. I don't think 4 hrs is that bad if it makes the movie a lot better. And it would.

I am mixed about that as well. I feel it would be perfectly plausible, if Bane had not blatantly attacked the place. Basically all the viewer is shown is that Bane attacks the place, interferes with transactions, and that very day Bruce Wayne happens to lose all of his money, with seemingly no one questioning it or connecting the two. That story doesn't add up IMO.

They do explain it, albeit briefly I believe. Wayne's fortune could have been recuperated by filing a Fraud charge, but they say in the movie that it'll take some time. I believe that upon his "death", they just settle the estate and pass it on with no one left to file the charges on his behalf.

The thing that annoyed me most about the movie is that Bane attacks the stock exchange. The NYSE closes at 4:00 PM, so Bane would have to have attacked before that. The program that he was running took like 15-30 minutes (don't remember). When Batman finally gets his hands on the computer, the program just finished running and it is pitch black. So you are telling me at 4:15 in the afternoon at the latest, it's pitch black outside?

Yeah I know about the fraud part, but I feel if there is a mass attack on the stock exchange, everyone knows the attackers hacked the exchanges, and then that very day a billionaire supposedly loses all of his money and his company will be taken over the next day, that some other sort of injunction would occur.

Honestly, nobody put it together that Batman and Bruce Wayne just happen to "disappear" forever at the same time, either. I'm not giving the citizens of Gotham any real benefit of the doubt when it comes to their intelligence, at least in the Nolan world.
Like Caddy said though, the difference between Clark Kent and Superman is a pair of glasses. ******* DC and their lame alter egos (Bruce Wayne is a boss, but a very obvious one)

Bruce didn't disappear when Batman did. Bruce disappeared because his clean energy thing failed, or that little thing he had underground that he couldn't turn on because it contained a hydrogen bomb. That was the reason for Bruce's disappearance, and it actually makes sense to separate the two identities.
And the stock market thing isn't that simple. Granted, the really odd transition to night was offputting but Lucius said it would take months to prove fraud (and that's without Bane dismantling the city), and they retroactively set it so that it appeared Bruce invested in put options.

ok one more complaint to an overall decent movie.
How does Blake just "become" the next batman/robin/nightwing whatever without any training. He's more likely to become the next Sherlock Holmes than he would be the next batman.

The ordinary people of the DC Universe are absolute morons. How do people not put together that Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same person?

That's why Nolan gave us John Blake.

I assumed that would be detailed in the next movie, but that's just me.

Think whatever you want about the actual loss of Wayne's fortune in terms of stocks/the company. The dude doesn't have a saving account though? They towed his Ferrari....he didn't just buy it outright?
Also, how did he get from the Azerbaijani desert and into NY when Bane had it completely closed down? There are a lot of potential answers for that one, I would have liked to see it though.
Regardless, I enjoyed the movie.

There's only one answer... He's Batman.

Yeah that was weird. Teleportation? Superman flew him to Gotham?
I was more annoyed by his super-fast recovery from a broken back, the fact that his failed jumps didn't re-injure the back, and the fact that his knees were all of a sudden awesome again.

He spent all his savings on Batman toys. I'm guessing he owed more than he had so they took assets, but allowed him to keep the house. Which seems odd.

The Waynes did a lot for the city, so using comic logic it makes sense.

Man some of you people are just too picky about this movie. Why look into all these little details that you will never find out until maybe the next movie if at all?
I never posted my thoughts since I did go to a Midnight premier.I though it was a great movie to sit and watch I would watch it again in a better movie theater .The theater i was at was a family owned small town type with one screen and was poorly screened filmed for this type of theater. But other then those issues the movie was great.I was shocked at the end of the film where Blake was given the bat cave.I just have questions who does he become ?
some of you may have issues with pace of the movie, why I ask ? I though it was pretty well done.I would still rank this 1 then TDK and then Batman Begins . But that is just me though.
