Yeah, in terms of that yes we do. But they are not multiple contract guys. They come in, do well, and IF they do well, we don't pay them. If they do poorly, we don't sign them.

It's almost like, Hey thanks for your service, but enjoy your time with us because you will NOT be coming back either way.

You make it seem like that's a matter of strategy rather than circumstance. If Alford's knee doesn't explode he may still be here. If we didn't have so many FAs to deal with maybe we don't draft big Hank and so re-sign Linval. Plus we don't know what's to come of big Hank.

Another point to remember is that we tend to have our own view of player talents and needs.

I don't think TE was considered the same kind of priority that fans and others think.

We do have decent youngsters that we like. We lost Shockey and Boss gets the job done, we lose Boss and Ballard gets the job done. Bennett was good but got premium money elsewhere.

Let's be honest, we don't tend to invest a lot of resources at the position.

Giants sign TE Xavier Grimble from USC

Former USC interim HC Ed Orgeron believes Xavier Grimble will be an all-pro TE.
"He has an unusual body size for a tight end that looks like a left tackle," Orgeron said. "He can block, run and catch and he’s a great young man." Grimble joined USC as the nation's No. 1 high school tight end recruit, but the position was not frequently used under Lane Kiffin. Grimble has a shot of being a top five prospect

Nice pick up, he was a guy I wanted us to draft.

With Jenkins, Hankins, Kuhn, Patterson, Bromley and Quarles there will be plenty of competition in camp

I LOVE our CB depth this year. Very pleased with this offseason and we actually have a pretty good shot at the division title with our improved roster, easy schedule and relatively weak division.

Also, Jennings/Wilson/Williams could be the second coming of Earth, Wind & Fire. Gonna be a whole new team/look this year and I'm very excited.

That's a high pick on the position every other year for the past decade. That's a pretty serious commitment to DTs.

I don't disagree with not tying too much money up into a run stuffer but Donald is going to be soooo much more than just a run stuffer. As I said I think we would've re-signed Alford had not gotten hurt and if we had Atkins we'd re-sign him. A guy who can bring consistent pressure up the middle to disrupt the pass is worth their weight in gold and Donald is going to be that guy. Bromley and our UDFA won't be. That's the difference. Same reason you don't pay Kiwi big bucks but you do JPP (if he's healthy) if a guy's a game changer you pay them if you can.

Now I'm fully happy with ODB because the kid screams Cruz and having two of that guy with Randle hopefully putting it together and both Mario and Jernigan on the bench gives Eli a beautiful set of weapons to throw to if the OL holds up, which it looks like it should with Richburg joining Pugh and Schwartz. But if we had grabbed Donald that would've been a great pick to. I can't imagine a quicker fix to our pass rush problems than having that guy to burst through the middle so that the edge guys can take advantage of some one on ones.

There's a lto I like but I'm really anxious about our pass rush. I liked the Ayers pickup since he can be a good base end and serviceable pas rusher up the middle, butwe need JPP and Moore to really shine next year for that defense to be really good.

That said I do really like what we've done to create competition along the OL, with Pugh, Richburg and Schwartz we've got three guys who are going to be key parts of our OL for years to come. If two competent starters to go with them come out of the much our offense could do very scary things with Cruz, ODB and Randle as the base trio and Jernigan/Mario as big play 4th option.

I think our pass rush will be ok, with the potential to be very good. Sure we lose Tuck, but I also think we will look for more pass rush outside the front four.

The big thing will be if we can get JPP healthy (and early signs are good)
I think Kiwanuka can be solid with more playing time and some time sticking at DE. Ayers can also be solid and Moore has flashed at times.

It is also worth mentioning that the OLB we picked up Kennard had 9 sacks last season and Jaquain Williams can get to the QB.

Bromley can rush the passer from the 3 tech spot too, he had 10 sacks last year.

The biggest factor though will be level of talent in the secondary.

The secondary has the highest level of talent on the team.

The giants drafted ODB, Richburg, a project DT, a sweet RB to compliment Jennings and Wilson in Andre Williams, and then a bunch of captains. I'm really excited by this draft.

WR was a big problem area and while I was hoping Evans might drop I can't say I don't love Beckham cause the kid just screams Cruz, similar size with tremendous hops to go up and get the ball allowing both to play much bigger than their size, and like Cruz Beckham has that suddenness to create seperation or create after the catch, with even more speed with which to take the top off, ODB will do great things with eli even if Randle can't get his head out of his ass. I would've been cool with Donald to because that kid reminds me of Atkins, whom I also love and would be helpful to the gmen, but I won't complain about this one.

Richburg is going to be another long term piece for our OL alongside Pugh and Schwartz, with all of the guys we've also got on the roster should even shake out to be a competent OL this season. Love this pick to.

I still don't know what a Jay Bromley is, but he seems to have nice tools to be groomed to replace Patterson and Jenkins. Seeing as Kuhn is a fellow germanhe's obviously awesome and will end up the starter when the oldies can't do it so Bromley realisticaly just needs to become a good rotation guy. Hopefully he's not lazy like Austin and William Joseph where cause otherwise the giants have done very nicely with day two DTs this century. After how awesome the first two picks were I'm still riding high even if this pick draws a massive ???

Andre Williams is a big strong back who knows how to block and runs hard as a mofo. With Jennings being brought in in FA he won't have to carry the load immediately, but Jennings is already 29 and getting another big back who can block for the rotation is a RB pick I'm fine with.

And then Nat Berhe, Devon Kennard and Bennett Jackson. Team Captain, Team Captain, and Team Captain. Don't know much about any of these guys, don't expect much but we've brought in a lot of capable bodies to our secondary and the competition will be ferocious, Berhe and Jackson figure to play into that competition for spots and Kennard's a LB, and that's cool, JR waited an extra round to pick his useless 4th round LB, unfortunately the pick was still too early to become another surprisingly useful really late round LB.

Overall I'm quite pleased with this draft, see two sure fire starters for the team moving forward, one sure fire rotation guy who could end up the starter in a couple years, another guy who should be part of the rotation and could end up the starter in a couple of years and a trio of hard working team captains to join the competition for roster spots in the back 7. And 3 of those first 4 guys are guys who'll help Eli bounce back and get the running game moving.

WR could be scary stacked if Randle really takes to the simplified offense, Cruz is healthy and Jernigan/Mario can chip in with some big plays. With the OL looking like it should be competent Eli should be in a position to have a massive bounce back year.

Our pass rush last season wasn't very good TUck or no, if JPP is fully healthy and back to his best that alievates a lot of concerns, but until I see JPP back to being JPP I'm going to remain anxious about it. And even if he is, a sweet secondary is good help, but not nearly as good of help as another stud, which is why I'm hoping we draft a DE high next year. Ayers is very meh as a pass rusher, even moreso than Kiwi, and while Moore was a prospect I liked a lot, I'm feeling pretty skeptical about assuming even guys I liked a lot, while break out when they didn't really get to do much at all as rookies.

A lot depends on how this offense is and how hard RR works. If he can do well then good things can happen.

I think in the end this is a "boring" draft but it's what we needed and I'm very pleased as well. ODB might become a star but besides him we beefed up where we needed. The UDFA's sound very promising also. Looking forward to this developmental season.

I haven't been this excited about a giants team in a while at the offset of a season. It's a refreshing feeling and the team has a lot of fresh faces. We've still got our studs in Eli, Cruz and Rolle (with a potentially JPP comeback) and then it's a bunch of talented guys in new roles and new spots ready to win.

Jennings (who I lovee) with perhaps Wilson and Williams is a pretty solid and steady RB group. Nothing special, but all talented guys. WR, as rosebud alluded to, has great potential. Seeing Cruz and ODB out in open space (hell, Jernigan, too) and Randle not having to read and do smart things, they could be a lot of fun to watch, which hopefully revitalizes Eli.

the OL...well, I'm happy with 3/5 spots. Pugh, Richburg and Schwartz. Solid guys here. If Snee is healthy, he's still a solid guy, but not dependable even in the slightest. And then there's Beatty...Beatty. Yeah. anyway.

hopefully this group works well. We've got 3 actual solid and long-term starters on this line, which is awesome and something we haven't had in forever (I know this is IF Richburg pans out, but still)

On D, hopefully JPP regains his form but i'm INCREDIBLY excited for Moore and Hank. Might be 2 of my favorite players, honestly. I hope their youth and raw talent really make an impact up front.

LB's gonna LB. Maybe beason and mcclain can do good things, idk.

Our DB's, as already stated, have the most talent and also the most swag. They're ready to go and bring an energy that I think will impact this team in a positive manner. Throw in some electric return men across the squad, and I'm excited for this season and now, even our future, if some of these picks pan out, which I believe at LEAST ODB, Richburg, and at least one of Moore and Big Hank will

I would've really liked anthony barr, but honestly I was surprised how high we drafted Beckham. I kindof felt like we wouldn't draft a TE high, but didn't think we wouldn't at all. I do think that Donnell and Robinson are the one's who are being looked at for the top spot
