Champ Bailey is one of the best corners ever to play the game and Arrington was one of the biggest freaks in the league who had a few really good seasons, and one or two dominant ones. Those were two guys that offenses had to account for at all times.

Ricky was a beast for a while but a great deal of that was in Miami. I'd say the Skins won.

I hate when people try to evaluate trades like this. They traded picks. It wasn't Williams for Bailey and Arrington. There's no telling who would have been selected had the trade not been made.

Washington won the trade. They won it the second it was made because they got a crap ton of picks with good value to move down 7 spots. What they did with those picks is irrelevant when evaluating the trade.

At the time they traded picks, now we can use the benefit of hindsight to evaluate how the trade effecting each franchises futures. And I'd say that Washington won out, although it was close, trading Champ away for a RB was stupid and Arrington's lack of on-field discipline undermined his amazing talent, so it's actually closer than it was when the trade was made, at least IMO.

The Saints traded Ricky Williams to Miami for two first rounders.

In 2002 they drafted Charles Grant.
In 2003 the Saints used it's pick from Miami with its own first to trade up for Jonathan Sullivan.
