Better Strategy: Focusing on Strengths or Weaknesses?

Which do you think is the better strategy, focusing on finding clean, well-rounded prospects (size, athleticism, production, polish, level of competition) or looking for "special", intangible traits regardless of whether or not prospects have other flags?

I would say weaknesses need to be dissected for prospects. Usually when someone is a bust the reason why is the emphasis on physical measurables which are a strength but more often than not these workout warriors fail.
