My, my. This thread really took off.
The better than Hakeem Nicks thing is hysterical. Hakeem is a ******* problem; he has 3034 yards and 24 TDs in 3 years and he's coming off a post season where he put up 28 receptions, 444 yards and 4 TDs. Better than Hakeem Nicks... GTFO.

Right now, Nicks is a better receiver than Dez.
I think it’s insane to suggest that Nicks has stumbled into all of his production. He would have to be the luckiest man in the whole world. Because he’s performing at quite a high level for just tripping over himself and somehow coming down with touchdown passes. Two consecutive seasons with 75+ REC and 1000+ YDS and he’s battled some nagging injuries while doing it. (For the record, Dez hasn’t done that once.) You don’t just luck into that kind of production in the NFL. You earn it. The truth is that Nicks is the best receiver in the NFC East and a part of that second tier of receivers in the entire NFL. He’s not Calvin or Fitzgerald or Andre, but he’s still a great receiver and he’s not just a product of Eli Manning. He’s a game-breaker, coverage-changer, whatever. He makes things happen once the ball is in the air. Versatile, smart runner, strong at the line and after the catch, deceptive length and deep ball threat. He threatens in all areas.
Granted, Dez has talent. There are a lot of qualities to point to and love when it comes to his skill set. In fact, I think he’s got the potential to be right there with Nicks among the best receivers in the NFL. But he’s not better than Nicks right now and he’s not Calvin minus three inches either. There’s still a gap that needs to be bridged between his abilities and his production.
As for these character concerns, it is a little worrisome and I think there’s merit to discussing them as opposed to dismissing it as media fear-mongering. I don’t know Dez’s position within the locker room. He might be one of the most devoted, loved teammates in there. But what I do know is Dez is the type of player that frustrates coaches endlessly. He has all the requisite talent to carve out a long career. Yet, he’s entering his third seasons in the league, and he still doesn’t seem to “get” what it takes to be as successful as he can be. Still jeopardizes his career with foolish off-field actions.
The elite ones take their work with them all the time. Most people in this league have a strong work ethic in practice when a coach is right there to monitor and scold their missteps. And most people are competitive enough to bring it for at least sixteen weekends. But what separates greatness from talent is what’s done when there’s not a coach right there to monitor and scold their missteps. I don’t know Dez has that kind of discipline and I’m not sure an arrangement where he’s being supervised all the time can work long-term.
Sure, the NFL is a stressful environment and there come points where people need to cut loose. But it shouldn’t be hard to exercise some common sense here and there to protect their career. Want to get drunk and fraternize with some females and have a carefree good time? Do it at home with close friends and invite a select crowd to join. Their panties will still drop. Dez is either an ignorant, reckless hot head or trouble seems to find him at a ridiculous rate. No matter the answer, he needs to smarten up and realize the stakes.
You hope the light bulb comes on at some point, but often times, it first takes something being taken from them for that to happen. That’s what Dallas has to gauge before offering a lucrative, long-term extension. Whether he’s capable of changing aspects of his own behavior that could derail his career.

Wow thats just sad that the Cowboys have to do that. Seems like Dez is gonna be one of those guys who will drive you crazy throughout this career by knowing he has elite talent but will never be consistent with it. Wouldnt doubt it if Cowboys gets tired of him in another year or two and ship him out.

No, JBCX was definitely an Eagles fan. The Flash is just the Dallas version of JBCX. I am actually picking Dallas to win the NFC but this guy makes me hope they go 0-16.

Wow can't believe a human needs this. Just grow up.

- A midnight curfew. If he's going to miss curfew, team officials must know in advance;
- No drinking alcohol.
- He can't attend any strip clubs and can only attend nightclubs if they are approved by the team and he has a security team with him.
- He must attend counseling sessions twice a week.
- A rotating three-man security team will leave one man with Bryant at all times.
- Members of the security team will drive Bryant to practices, games and team functions.

You joined the thread harped about how much how an !@#$ Dez is. Openly stated it didn't matter because the Giants will stomp the 'Boys. Then insulted anyone who disagreed with you. Besides you already said you were done with this thread. :)
Any chance you will be opening your mind up for tours? I've always wanted to know what a hypocrite's mind looks like.

I said I was done with Flash, not the thread. I was also trying to get the 'Boys fans riled up a bit for fun which seemed to work.

Hold on... Cowboys fans made excuse after excuse for Dez in this thread, said he's on track for his "best season yet", said he's better than Hakeem Nicks, called him "Calvin minus two inches" and said he'll be in Canton one day but we're in the wrong? HA! That's rich.
I can't believe we're all such haters. We're all just blind to the greatness of Dez "I hit my mother" Bryant.

Oh sorry, he pushed her and somehow snapped her bra. My mistake.
EDIT: Nope, I was right. Link.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant allegedly hit his mother in the face with his baseball cap ... and grabbed her by the shirt so hard that he ripped her bra ... this according to arrest documents obtained by TMZ.

Does it say that? It says he hit her with his baseball cap, it does not say he threw it.

You're the one that still harbors ill feelings over someone who 2 years ago said that Dez was the best WR in the NFC East. I would say you're the one riled up. LOL. The way you speak in this thread, I would say that you're down right disgusted. Why you so mad? Life is good broski! :)

I just think it's hilarious you were so adamant about at the time and were telling just everyone to wait until it comes to fruition. Well it's his 3rd year now so the clock is ticking. Also, believe me when I tell you I'm not mad or disgusted over it.
Excellent move on the changed name and I'm actually disgusted by the fact that I agree with Thumper on this.
